WTF Is It?......

Im making a bunch of these.....WTF are they? 
Its 4" aluminum square tube, 8' 6" tall with a satin finish
This is the bottom, a bolt will go through the hole and a bolt throught the slot. they can be loosened so this unit will tilt to the desired position.
The holes on the top are 1 3/4" and are threaded
When these units are in place they will stand straight up like a cross
So, WTF are they?
