Hey everyone, Just wonering if anyone else works on cars? Today I made a HUGE life decision.....I AM GOING BACK TO SCHOOL! I am going to work towards getting my ASE cert. Its a big change for me I have been working at my families business since high school (10 yrs) and I just was not happy. TODAY WAS A GREAT DAY! I am very excited about all this. Just trying to get a feel for what Im in for? Nick

Is that the 2 year tech college certificate? My brother in law is a certified mechanic. My husband knows vehicles better than him, and he's never taken a class on it besides auto in high school. I'm happy for you and congratulations! mel

Thank Ya. The course I am taking (starts on the 29th!!!!!) is 50 weeks long (total 1200 hours) its really cool because I go from 7 till 12 and I was able to keep my job as well (or part of it I guess...) I have been wrenching on cars my whole life....but you cant make any(or good) money without credentials.

Nick, I am not a mechanic, I am a long retired cop, but I sincerely commend you for what you are doing. It must have taken a lot of thinking about but it will be worth the work in the long run. I wish you every success in your studies and your future as a mechanic, good luck-------------------------------------------Cheers Roy

I can rip a motor apart in a matter of a few hours. Just can't put it back together.

Nick congatulations, you made a damn good decision. I've seen from the dealership standpoint the difference in pay between certified and not. most dealership require certification. the more certs you get the more pay. goodluck

Thanks everyone! Im 27 and I just aint getting any younger. seems like the right time, and heck I havent had a CH hit in about a week so things just keep getting better! Gonna take a road trip to Fredricksburg Texas this weekend to visit the National Museum of the Pacific War. This will probably be the last free weekend I have for a year. Its all about getting the grades now. HAHA been 10 years but I am pumped! Thanks again Yall P.S> This Site has got me through the worst pain Ive ever encountered and has helped rid some of the uncertainty of this CH business for me! For that I am truly grateful to everyone here
