Is ABC going to edit out the parts of the 911 mini series that Mr Bill wants them to? It's not exactly the legacy that he wanted is it?

ABC has openly admitted this docu-drama is fiction. They arent even trying to play it off as factual. I find it hard enough to swallow a documentary about such an emotional subject, but I find it offensive that someone would take 9/11 and use it as a political tool based on fiction. Course, I am getting used to it. B$

US Navy welcomes the USS Bill Clinton Sunday, July 2, 2006, Vancouver BC, headed for Seattle, WA. The US Navy welcomed the latest member of its fleet today. Pictured above: The USS William Jefferson Clinton (CVS1) set sail today from its home port of Vancouver, BC. The ship is the first of its kind in the Navy and is a standing legacy to President Bill Clinton "for his foresight in military budget cuts" and his conduct while president. The ship is constructed nearly entirely from recycled aluminum and is completely solar powered with a top speed of 5 knots. It boasts an arsenal comprised of one (unarmed) F14 Tomcat or one (unarmed) F18 Hornet aircraft which although they cannot be launched or captured on the 100 foot flight deck but form a very menacing presence. As a standing order there are no firearms allowed on board. The 20 person crew is completely diversified and includes members of all races, creeds, sex, and sexual orientation. This crew, like the crew aboard the USS Jimmy Carter, is specially trained to avoid conflicts and appease any and all enemies of the United States at all costs. An on board Type One DNC Universal Translator can send out messages of apology in any language to anyone who may find America offensive. The number of apologies are limitless and though some may sound hollow and disingenuous, the Navy advises all apologies will sound very sincere. The ship's purpose is not defined so much as a unit of national defense - but instead in times of conflict the USS Clinton has orders to seek refuge in Canada. The ship may be positioned near the Democratic National Party Headquarters for photo-ops and can be used extensively for social experimentation, and whatever other worthless jobs, the ex-commander-in-chief and his wife can think of. It is largely rumored that the ship will also be the set for the upcoming season of MTV's "The Real World". The ship was renamed and commissioned USS William J Clinton when someone realized the USS Blowfish was already taken

if truth is stranger than fiction, then this show is probably not all that far from what went down. i watched it and it corresponds pretty closely with what the 9/11 commission reports seemed to describe. anyone elese actually watch it? anyone else actually read it?

yeah I did, you can see the deleted scenes on utube if you wish. In the guys last film, the hero was a black communist in the thirtys I believe, then the Reagon movie, funny how he has become a right wing nutjob when before he was a leftist nutjob. Cyrus Nowrasteh do a little research on him.

Living in Detroit, I've watched Canadian TV all my life for objective views that may include American events when they run them. Last night they ran "The Secret History of 9/11", a minute by minute account of Sept 11, 2001. Fact based and totally non-political, it coincided well with a portion of what I've read of pre-9/11 for a show of 3 hours, which included the toxic legacy to it afterwards from the debri. Many of the interesting things that were revealed while the act was taking place and afterwards was an eye-opener.

I'm an American, not a Republican or a Democrat. I don't like political BS on either side of the aisle and this one was blatantly dishonest and political. "For dramatic and narrative purposes the movie contains fictionalized scenes, composite and representative characters and dialogue" It makes NO pretense that it is factual. "If people blame Bill Clinton after seeing this, then the miniseries has failed," said Kean, the former Republican New Jersey governor. "That's wrong and it shouldn't happen." Critics, such as historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr., said it was "disingenuous and dangerous" not to include accurate historical accounts in the movie.

I tried to watch some of that show, but I cant take the camera work. ABC thinks that if the keep moving the camera around, its better TV, but I cant take that shit. I get motion sick or something. I have no problem with companies having a political agenda, but it is totally inappropriate to have this shown as a learning tool if it is fiction. ABC sent out an email or a letter to 100k teachers asking that this movie be shown as history, but it is fictional. According to 3 9/11 commissioners, Jaime Gorelick, Richard Ben-Veniste and Tim Roemer, this movie is not accurate at all and is fictional. The 9/11 commission and ABC say this movie is fiction, so why do some people say it is factual? B$

I've been trying to make sense of jonny's post, but as usual, I have not been successful. Although President Clinton had been out of office for months before 9/11 and Georgie and his Alzheimer's afflicted cabinet had been in power, already planning to attack Iraq and have it cost us hardly a dime because of all of the oil that we would get as thanks (and he had already spent the surplus Clinton left and was borrowing left and right), and Rummy was threatening to fire any of his generals and admirals who were against invading Iraq (this was all pre 9//11 and the war was already planned and too late to stop) and was insisting that our troops would be greeted with bouqets and seven virgins each and be home in 6 months (and Chaney was off somewhere wondering if he wacked off just ONE MORE TIME if it would blow his pacemaker), 9/11 happened and damn if we didn't have to invade Afganistan first (anyone notice that the Taliban are on the upswing lately?), we took care of that and then invaded Iraq, what with its weapons of "mass destruction (or more likely "mass-turbation" or "mass-turbans", I forget which), somehow jonny ties this all together and decides that it is not only Clinton's fault but Carter's as well (and you might throw in FDR and Harry Truman and John Kennedy and LBJ as well) that we are not winning the war, that the situation in Iraq and Afganistan gets worse each day (except for the warlords who were appointed Provincial Governors and have had a record opium crop this year) and jonny says THAT THIS IS ALL CLINTON'S FAULT! I can't figure it out, nor can I figure out why old Osama is still alive and well, but IT IS ALL CLINTON'S FAULT! If someone, other than jonny, can explain this to me using proper English, I would grealty appreciate it and I too might become convinced that everything bad that has happened to the US since George took office-not just the war(s), but the ecomomy, etc., then I too might become convinced that it is ALL CLINTON'S FAULT! Thank you very much, whoever you are out there who will clarify the situation for me. "In Hoc Signo Vinces"-we will all be in hock up to our necks if things continue the way that they have been-oh, and Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco! I watched it too and enjoyed it. A good show. Every single commercial was pulled in my area for it. Thus it ended the first part 25 minutes early. Disclaimers to being factual were installed at the beginning and the end. ABC had to have lost a lot of money to air it. Interesting if you read the posted link by Ivanov who the producers and director were. Zealots on a mission.

| Wow that is pertty good usage of English including slang. I am impressed, not only did you get most of your facts wrong but you even was able to quote old tv commercials. I could attempt to debate all day long about howmany mis-statements you have in this but I have a feeling it would fall on deaf ears. All that would do is force you to manuver to yet another invented talking point and along with your premise of who and what you are spew forth yet more lies and invented factoids. Like most trolls I see you have an agenda and part of it seems to attempt to discredit a respected member of the CH community, ok several of them. I have a feeling you will start showing you are brave by stating you have an extensive military career, and or a long history of it in your family. There are several here that can match and probably excede it without even a sigh. But those will not be the ones you go after will they? It will be those you are either unsure of or through your past incarnations have drawn out info on them. You can do yourself and others a huge favor by not trying you petty personal attacks, discuss the topic at hand, or just be silent if you have nothing intelligent to say. Using big works or attempting to quote others or even latin phrases doesn't make it intelligent, it just makes you appear to be childish and petty. Being Louder or more long winded doesn't make you right. Ok I think I am finished now. Oh and attacking me is about as useful as petting the wind. Mike

I missed the broadcast? Woe is me I guess. The Republicans and that selfish thing in the White House control both houses and the Executive. They have no excuses. An example is that Bush used the attack on the Cole and that the Democrats did nothing...as an election tactic. After the election, he ignored it for 8 months until 9/11. Charlie
