Owls

Just stepped outside for a moment, and there are a pair of screech owls calling to each other in the trees across the street.  The coyotes are howling in the foothills.  Even the animals know that there's *something* going on.

It's an eerie, windy, too-warm night--much smoke in the air from the lightning-caused fires burning up near Garden Valley and Cascade and the Frank Church Wilderness to the north of us--it reddens the stars.  Fire season.

I haven't heard the owls call my name.  If I do, you'll know why I don't show up on the board tomorrow.

Best,

George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs
Wearing the tangerine suits
And their harlequin eyes.
The pain they inspire
Draws in harmonica melodies
And the feathers of birds
Which flame up at their touch.
It all comes to light in the sheer
Debonair.

I LOVE owls.  I think all that commotion was cause of the full moon. Wink

The critters have been going nuts out here to. I thought it was the moon also.

You're probably right about the moon.  I notice that it usually seems to set the coyotes off, and it sure was visible last night.

George they have been very vocal and very visible out here to. We've been getting storms every night and I think thats helping to stir them and the javelinas around
