Until I get on a plane to London to meet Helen!!! (And Heaven knows who else she has arranged for me to meet!)
Sanna.....are you going to be able to make it??
Matt and Mary will also be there!! Can't wait to meet them for the first time - can't believe we have to go all the way to England to meet! LOL
I have just about everything I need before heading over. This month is absolutely insane for me, with like 3 things every single day. I'm working a lot before I go just because of how the schedule worked out, and I have theater every night because I'm playing in a show at the end of the month...also my next class starts tomorrow...just a lot going on!
But.....I'm so excited to fly to England and meet my clusterangel!!

We are ready too, I cant believe that I am actualy getting nervous. It must be the idea of eating Helens cooking....Mary is already packed even. It is pretty funny that we have to fly to England to meet Carrie, but what ever it takes.........

One more day down!!!
Helen - I had an appt at the headache center today with the NP, and I was saying that, "I'm staying with my friend Helen - the one who has met Dr. Rosen and Dr. Silberstein..." And she was like, "OH yes....I've heard the story, and that's all I'm gonna say..."   Every appt with Dr. Young, if I mention my trip over, he talks about Dr. Lurrrrrve......hahahaha You're a celebrity over here!
And about calling - maybe Saturday we'll line up better? Tomorrow I work from 7a-7p and then have theater until 10:15 or so. Friday I work 7a-7p again. Saturday I'm off, and am just getting my hair cut and packing. Sunday is another 6 hour theater rehearsal.... Monday and Tuesday, I work 7a-7p and both nights, I have a theater dress rehearsal afterwards, so I won't be home until late.... Wednesday, I have a doc appt at 8am and then.......take Tony to my parents' house and finish any last minute details before I get on the plane that night!!! The fact that the clusters are really back in full force means that I've only really been sleeping maybe 4 hours a night at most...between pain and my schedule - I'm gonna be so relieved to get on that plane that I could probably cry!! So maybe on Saturday we can talk on the phone?
I should mention that a couple weeks ago, I posted a news story about quadruplets born at our hospital to an 18 year old mom...at 28 weeks...3 boys and 1 girl. The news posted a sad update last night and today...something I learned yesterday as I got to work.....the girl and 2 of the boys died over the weekend..... I've been pretty intricately involved in their care, so this has been kind of a rough time for me... I need this vacation more than ever, and I really look forward to the laughs and the hugs!!!
Oh yeah - and to add to the very long list of things going on for me this month that I have only shared a bit of, my next class started today!! The teacher sounds kinda....not very nice - all deadlines are absolute with no exceptions, and I don't even think she'd care if your close family member died - you'd still get an F if you missed an assignment by 10 seconds.....And since I just learned today that there is at least one assignment due while I'm in England - I think I'll be working to get that done before I leave next week, too!! AHhhhhhhh..... Not so sure I'll still have a 4.0 after this class! It's advanced pharmacotherapeutics which is actually my favorite and/or best subject - but this teacher...she really sounds rough....
When I first thought about going to England 10 months ago, I was at a time in my life where I was very down and really needed something to look forward to... I contacted Helen to see about staying with her if I came over for a migraine conference, and that's how it all started. I have been looking forward to this for 10 months!! I can't believe I'm at the point where I'm saying that it's next week!!! Like Matt, I'm also a little nervous!! I think I'll feel better once I get on the plane, but I think it's been all I have to do before I go and the fact that I never planned on playing in the theater show at the end of the month and then they really needed me. So it's been crazier than ever! I'm going to have to plan another trip like immediately or while I'm over there because you know I can't survive without something to look forward to in order to get me through the days!!!
I'm so very very grateful to Helen for taking me in and also for planning all the details of what we're doing once I'm there!!! This is the most ideal way for me to travel that I could ever imagine!! I'm a lot less nervous than I would be if I wasn't going to stay with someone who I consider to be a "best friend" that I've never even met!! You should see me trying to explain how I know the person I'm going to stay with in England, even though I've never met her yet...to all the people at work I've been telling about this trip. At first, when they hear that I'm staying with someone I met online, they all raise their eyebrows. And I hate to get into the whole "headache support" (which leads me to explain about clusters, even though most of them will never understand...) because I get treated like shit when I mention headaches around most everyone I work with, but most people do think it's pretty neat....they will never understand just WHAT connection we all have with each other!! I thank DJ every single day for this site...and the friends that I've met here!!

I'm so sorry to hear about those poor babies, how awful for their poor parents but also for all of you who shared in their care. I truly don't know how you do it, you have more guts than me.
BTW, don't forget to bring my full address with you and my phone numbers as written in England.. I'll make sure you have those down properly before hand!
You'll need to fill in a customs declaration as to where you are staying etc so you'll need that info. Also, if you need to call me once you get here you'll have the code right!
Tell your mum and dad not to worry, you can call them every day if needs be!
