Is there anyway to get rid of gallstones without surgery ? Just found out my dad had to go to the hospital (Kentucky) cuz he's been in agony for a while now and they found out it was gall stones. OK......simple enuff......but he also has a large aneurysm on his heart so any surgery is HIGH RISK. He needs knee replacement but guess his docs decided a while back that it'd not be worth the risk. My relatives happen to know about the aneurysm and told the hospital cuz he didn't...in case they got to thinkin of doin an emergency surgery. Talked to relatives today and he wants OUT of the hospital and NOT cooperateing with them....he is refuseing tests. My step mom told me the aneurysm is VERY big and he is liveing day to day but he DOESN'T think I know that and hasn't told anyone else. Him and my step mom split up BADLY after the Nashville convention. He was in Tenn for a while and didn't tell me they weren't gettin along either when we visited. Arghhhhhh.......guess he is in bad shape and not got to talk to him myself yet. He won't talk about the medical stuff with me anyhow and says he is ok and doesn't want anyone knowin how bad he is. My mom is havein surgery too soon.......parental overload Pam
Am waitin to hear more news here shortly..........

Hey Coots-
I believe some cases of gallstones can be treated with ultra sound. (Basically shattering the stones with acustical energy) Not the same as an ultra sound scans.
