I've never been up the Blackpool tower Yorky, in fact I've only ever been to Blackpool ONCE That's actually part of the reason why I organised a regional meeting there and coincidentally made it while the illuminations are on See? I'm NOT as thick as I look! You've got a gorgeous looking family by the way but silly me, I thought Tracey was your WIFE not your daughter. Apologise to her for me eh?! Helen

Yes, they are lovely. I haven't mastered photobucket yet. Where's your real picture of you. Since I have to guess, I'm guessing you most resemble Toni. Who is the munchkin on the left? She's cute too. Tracy, Tracy, Tracy, you have your hands full. Charlotte

| I've heard of Blackpool because it's mentioned in Last of the Summer Wine quite a bit. That's one of the very few tv programs that I watch. Haven't heard of the tower, though. Good looking crew you got there.

http://www.glasssteelandstone.com/UK/England/BlackpoolTower.html Quote:It was conceived as an answer to the Eiffel Tower in Paris and in its sheltering arms a number of amusement attractions sprang up so it could continue to make money in bad weather. The tower was intended to copy Paris' famous landmark, and was even supposed to originally be called "Blackpool Eiffel Tower." Though it's not as tall as the Eiffel Tower, it appears more sturdy. That's because it is subject to the battering of storms that roll in off the sea. |
| I knew there looked like a French connection there somewheres.

Took a look at the Blackpool Tower and Circus website: http://www.theblackpooltower.co.uk/ There are a couple of photos of the "Walk of Faith" at 380 feet--a two-inch-thick glass floor that a person can walk across with a very clear view of the street below. Egad. Not something I could do, at any rate. As a life-long acrophobic, I'm afraid it would hit ALL my hot buttons and make my brain short out. Makes me a little woozy even from HERE. (Shudder.) The ballroom looks magnificent, however. Regards, George

That is really some ballroom, wouldn't expect to see that in an amusement area. I was extremely phobic of heights since climbing up on the garage when I was almost six but my foot couldn't reach the top of the ladder to come back down and was up there a over an hour. Long gradual process to overcome but stepping on that tower glass would be a good test for me today.
