First day of school TODAY....

My little Caleb started back to school today and so far so good -- the school hasn't called me yet so I guess he hasn't gotten expelled yet.  Wink

It's funny - we can't wait for them to start back, but it's a sad day also. I've been lost all day without him and Homer (his dog) has just been going around sniffing everything and whinning.

But it's about time to go pick him up so I guess the whirlwind will start and I'll wonder why I was sad.....

My daughter would kick and scream and give me every excuse she could think of to stay home and not go to school for years.
For the first 3 months or so she would do this, this lasted until she was in the 5th grade. The funny thing is that she didn't give a rats butt about what the other kids thought! Now she's heading into the 8th grade and has been an honor student and made the principles list for the last three years. The principle at her school called this summer to tell me he was taking a position with San Jose State and also to inform me about an IB program which would have her doing college prep stuff during high school. She hasn't missed a day in 3 years and is already thinking about what college she wants to bankrupt me with.lol.
To anyone one with grade schoolers my prayers are with ya!

El's starting high school at the end of this month.  She'll be fine, but I worry about the high school.

My rugrats don't start 'til the end of the month...  Then again, I only see 'em on the weekend anyways, so it's kinda sorta a mute point for me anyways...  I just really hope none of them hates school as much as I did...

Well, the first day of school went "well?"

Caleb "fired" his teacher, but said (seriously), "She wouldn't leave!"

The principal caught me as I went to get him.... said he gave her a ticket (he's Walker, Texas Ranger in disguise) and told her he wasn't going to eat cause Granny was coming to get him , "Call her please!" At least he said "please".

Once again, Kudos go out to teachers... Bless you all....
