Polly's progress report

I last wrote about her Vet appointment and the fact that he gave her an NSAID to take while waiting for the dog neuro to read the x-rays.

5 days later she she became VERY depressed and developed blood in her stool, so we took her off the NSAID and the vet put her on Pepsid AC.

We finally got word from the neuro a couple of days ago.   We were told that it could be a developing disc problem or she had injury to soft tissue.  We don't believe it to be the soft tissue, but she hasn't had another episode since we put her on the NSAID for those 5 days.

We just have to wait and see what happens.

If only these little creatures could talk!  When she got depressed ( it actually developed over about 3 days, little by little) she just lay on the floor with her eyes looking up at me.  She would'nt respond to the joyous words " let's go for a walk and look for bunnies", she wouldn't play with me and her toys......nothing.

She seems to be feeling fine now, but I wouldn't know it if she did had a little pain.

I am thankful that she isn't crying out in pain like she was.  Maybe it is over after all.  Time will tell.

Donna,
Our dogs, (and cats for those that have 'em) become so much a part of our families. There are many times I have wished my dogs could tell me exactly what was wrong.

I am very glad to hear that things seem to be getting better! Thanks for the update!!

Glad to hear she's doing better Donna,
What nsaid did you have her on?
Can you switch to a different one if she starts to
flare up next time?
Did they suggest surgery?

Still sending vibes,
Mast
