I got into my car at 1:30 this morning ( forgetting that I allowed my daughter to use it last evening). I started the motor and drove off into the starry night----not realizing that my daughter had left a cd in the cd player. About 3/10 of a mile away from my house the cd starting playing a Rap song---which had to be the filthiest thing I have ever heard. I listened for 2 minutes and every other word was so vulgar I couldn't believe it. I must have had my head in the sand ( or in my ass) that I never heard this before. Oh my God !

Yikes. I'm pretty picky about the CDs my kids (13, and almost 11) get, but radio stations are another story. I recently overheard a song that they were listening to, and I could actually understand some of the lyrics. 
So, I took the opportunity to talk to them about what was being said. How the lyrics were disrespectful to women, and how did they feel about that? We had a good talk. That's really all we can do. To over react and try to censor just results in their being more fascinated by the forbidden. JMHO...
