I have been reading the posts extolling the virtues of Red Bull. I have never tried one of these drinks in my life. This morning my wife (killer Kathy) bought me an Amp tall boy to see if it would help my head. Well not only did it help my head but I've gone shopping with killer, cleaned the yard, walked the dog and the neighbors dog(he's kind of pissed cause he doesn't even own a dog) and now I think I'll swim a few hundred laps in the pool. I think they should put warnings on these cans about giving them to idiots like me who react like it's liquid speed. I can just see me on a street corner now bumming 2.50 for an Amp fix.

I was unlucky enough that the Red Bull didn't help the headache, but like you I didn't feel like sleeping, for about a week! After trying that I fear speed would drop me dead!!!! Guiseppi

Amp is my favorite energy drink. Does anybody know if this stuff can be purchased by the case? If so, where?

Thanks, Jean! At $41/case, I'll probably watch for the "2 for $3" specials they run at gas station convenience stores. Amp comes in a tall boy cans that cost $1.50 during these specials. If I drink one of these when I get shadows, it'll usually keep it at shadow level until I can get to my O2 tank. Bill

I"m glad you found this. I had the same thing during my last cycle. I finally got Imitrex self injects but I also heard about the Red Bull thing and tried it since I hate needles. The Red Bull worked very well for me. It seems like I have to slam it pretty quick though before the CH gets worked up to full strength or the Red Bull can't knock it down but if I get the stuff in me as soon as I feel it coming on, it helps.

I find that too Pat, drink the vile stuff at the first opportunity and drink it as fast as I can too. I don't mind that bit actually 'cos I hate the taste of it so much I shudder before drinking it, I love how it works though so I can put up with it!

Since I do the low carb thingy, I use "rip it - engergy fuel". I get the energy boost from "rip it", but it doesn't seem to help my headaches or the shadowing at all, even though it contains the same amount of Taurine(1000mg) as Red Bull and 10% more caffeine; and it also comes in 4 different flavors... "rip it" energy fuel sells for $.99 @ CVS Drugs here and $1.00 at Deals Dollar Store... I've been purchasing in by the case for the past several months and drink at least two per day.. And even though it don't help my CHs, it does help my energy level. Like it put some GO, IN MY GIDDIE UP. LL

Sounds like me the first time I had Red Bull! I was ready to climb couple mountains, clean the house, run a marathon and write couple essays while I'm baking cakes for an army... I actually like the taste of RB, but I still consider it as a med (which means: if you see me with a can in my hand it means that I'm getting hit). Best wishes, Sanna

I confess I buy the big cans of RockStar diet. Have moved from slamming single Red Bulls to slamming bigger cans...also will buy whatever is on sale...and I protect my supply-will run out at night to make sure I have one in morning...anyone know of an energy drink anonymous group? Husband says habit is expensive-have ordered the tablet form of taurine-B vits and carnitine. If you see me sneakin' round the corner, belching (yep does that to me) you'll know that I've been closet energy-drinking. Please don't tell my hubby. kathy

Kathy, I feel for you... I was afraid that I'll get hooked on Red Bull/other energy drinks. But I think of them as meds; not as something to drink. That helped me. Can you get the help you need from caffeine tablets? Best wishes, Sanna

Sanna, You are such a sweetie! We'll see if the tablet form and strong coffee does the trick, n'est pas? In the meantime, I was actually making a joke. I don't feel that I have a problem with energy drinks. Really...okay this sounds like classic denial doesn't it? kathy
