Allstate plans on dropping the wind and hail coverage on our home owners coverage. Thirty five years with these folks. I'm so naive. "Good Hands People". Six more pines down today and more to go. Steve G

I got rear ended by a guy with Allstate and they made it go to trial instead of just paying my medical, they kept saying I was not hurt, they lost and the poor guy that hit me got a judgment against him. The judge was pissed at Allstate for wasting the tax payer’s time and money but no matter what he did they would not settle with me and it was for a lousy $3,800 they can’t say it is against a insurance company during the trial but after the verdict was read the judge told the jury that it was and told them what a waist it was and everything else it was entertaining but it took three days of trial and we had met three other times to try and mediate it, I will never have them for my insurance that’s for sure. | They seem to be cutting back on coastal state exposure a lot. http://www.katc.com/Global/story.asp?S=5183956 Allstate in dispute over wind, hail coverage in La. July 22, 2006 06:08 AM EST BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana's top insurance regulator and Allstate Insurance Co. are in a dispute over wind and hail coverage affecting 30,000 homeowners in parishes vulnerable to hurricanes. ------- http://www.suntimes.com/output/business/cst-fin-earns20.html The company has since cut back on catastrophe exposure in coastal New York and Florida, and is discontinuing its earthquake coverage. --------- Limiting water damage coverage http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/storm2001/1019698.html Homeowners whose dwellings have suffered water damage within the past three years will not be able to buy new policies from Allstate Insurance Co., but current policyholders will not be affected. http://www.sunherald.com/mld/sunherald/15117573.htm BATON ROUGE - Allstate Insurance Co. officials say state law allows the company to drop basic hurricane coverage for 20,000 policyholders in 18 coastal parishes -- a stand that Insurance Commission Jim Donelon is challenging. The company does not plan to pull out of the Louisiana homeowners market, a threat that Donelon says Allstate made during a meeting Friday, said Allstate spokeswoman April Eaton. At issue is a state consumer protection law that prohibits insurance companies from changing a policy or dropping coverage if the policyholder has been insured for three years and has not had more than two claims not considered "acts of God." Allstate legal counsel Lorrie Brouse said that the state law deals with cancellations and nonrenewals. "We're not disputing the statute," she said. "We're saying what were planning to do doesn't apply." Donelon said the law does not allow Allstate the second-largest insurer in the state to "gut" policies. Allstate wants to drop wind and hail coverage in Ascension, Assumption, Cameron, Iberia, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Terrebonne and Vermilion parishes

Steve, Just heard on the news this morning (about 5 minutes ago) that Allstate has *no* plans on dropping wind and hail coverage at the moment. 'darlin
