Okay... The CH tats thread got me thinkin'... I'm currently a tat virgin... Not that I don't want them or am afraid to get 'em... I have just two reasons why I haven't been inked yet... Money and vision... The money will be rectified next tax refund (I'm gettin' at least one tat with my tax return next year)... Vision is still a bit of a problem... I don't wanna go into a tat parlor, point at a design on the wall, and be happy with being like everyone else. Someday, I'll have my DrkAngel desgin tattooed on my right shoulder blade, but I have not yet found a design I liked, nor have I found the right person to design it for me... But that's besides the point.
I have decided on my first three tats, but can't find what I want, and that's where y'all come in. I need ideas... I know the basic idea what I want, but I need some designs, and seein' as though I'm a tat virgin, I have no clue how to even start designing the art I have in mind. So here's what I have planned:
#1... My first tats will be on my inner wrists. Anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with suicide (No... I don't plan on offin' myself anytime in the near future, but that's why I've decided on these tats)... So my first tats will be stitched slit wrists. I'm lookin' for the whole blood and gore, but with a realistic effect... I know... I'm a psychotic bastard...
#2 & #3... My other two tats are a little less gruesome... One of them are a torn wings on my back... Ya know... Like angel wings have been ripped from my back. I need alot of ideas for this one, because I have absolutely no idea how to go about this effect. The other one is a CH inspired designed on the side of my head under the hairline. Maybe a demon ripping my head open or something... Yes, I'm thinkin' about shaving a portion of the side of my head for this tat (Not the whole side, but a portion behind the temple, maybe above the ear).
All these tats will easily hidden, because I'm still dependent on getting jobs from less than open minded employers... All the tats I will ever get will be symbolic, and these three symbols are most prevalent in my life right now. I just need some ideas, recommendations, sketches, etc... of what to get. I think there's a new guy here that's a tattoo artist..
Also, Ramon is a great artist....he's got lots of artwork. Some of the tattoo's done in Davenport were Ramon's designs.
The new guy...I think it's mroc....wait, I'll see if I can find where he posted....cause I don't remember his name

I'll tell ya what......suma that detailed 'black work only' fantasy work is AWESOME.....got several friends gettin sleeves or backs done and they search the internet (fantasy art is a start) and find what they like or close and take it to there tatt person of choice to be modified to there likeing and even get some ideas from them to make it ORIGINAL for them and changed or just use the idea they found and go from there. Flames on the wrists are kinda cool or inside the forarms......(ya can take yer firearms in places with you that way....har-har).....barb wire is anouther thing alot of people like done around there wrists which basically has meaning of hardship of all sorts. Most tatt artists (esp if season'd and been doin it a long time which is MY PICK) will have tons of books you can go thru with pics of work done so you can get an idea what there work looks like and how much detail they can create or the imagination they may have to make stuff WORK for you to chage or redo or make look good. I have seen alot of new work esp detailed blackwork looking almost 3-D !!!! My tatt shop is a close friend of about 30 yrs....she has tons of flash on the wall of pics to choose from you can have redone and she can do it which I like if I wanna just go with an IDEA and change the charactor or whatever or add to it. Or go thru some tattoo magazines for the BEST ideas that people have come up with for themselves 'just to give you some ideas what you may like or where'.....not neccisarily to copy. I have done that alot....goin thru the tatt mags and there are alot of nice hardback tatt books also for ideas. I am into tigers so I have been adding to mine....not really new places but fillin in my stuff so it all blends in nicely. I have alot of big tigers now.....entire side is tigers. (white tigers with jus color in eyes and nose ect) They all have meaning.....includeing my two tigers faceing each other on my side.....they are two types of white tigers meaning nothing the same is REALLY the same. No mirror image Pam

When I was in high school, I wanted to get a tat of a white tiger, but never got around to gettin' it... Prolly will one day (if I ever did get all the tats I've thought about gettin', I'd be more inked than Jonny... LOL).
I came up with a general idea for one of my tats... On the side of the head... Have it look like the skin is torn open, and a little demon (sorta like a gremlin) is ripping the trigeminal nerve out. Has anyone here had their scalp tattooed, or knows someone who has? Is there a limit to what can and can't be put on the scalp?

I have friends with tatts on there scalp but.....you couldn't see them what so ever unless they kept that part shaved. The one guy kept the sides shaved for a while but once it grew back you could not see the tatts at all. He had dragons. Sum tatt artists won't tattoo from the neck up....or wrists or ankles down but if they know ya real well mine said they will go ahead and do it. My friend said it's so there not sorry some day and it effects them in the job market. I know places that will not hire if tatts can be seen.......they even make the boys with pierced ears wear bandaids or tape over them. If ya shave yer head ya mite do ok with the tatt there. Kind of a waste when ya can't see it if ya grow it back tho. Pam that almost has as many tatt's as Jonny but is flip flop'd
PS: with some I think the obsession with suicide 'thoughts' is just morbid curiosity.........

Get yourself a shit load of tat mags and flip through them, look for back ground designs and work into that what you think you want....thats how I come up with mine.
Just because you use Chinese smoke, flames, ribbons or anything else for a mag does not mean your getting what other people have.....because!!, you put your twist on it.
Even desings in the damn ads are fair game for me, ive used them more than once, but, I added what I wanted to make it my own.

One of the reasons why I like the idea of a scalp tat is because for now, it wouldn't be any problem with my werk to leave it shaved and the tat exposed, but if I ended up with a job that wouldn't allow visible tats, I can let the hair grow in to hide it until I can get away with showin' it again.
