They look like fun and glad to see you guys enjoying it in the pictures, but I don't like to drink, smoke or really party at all (anymore, believe my I used to) so I just can't picture myself ever making the trip. I hope the people who go always enjoy them as much as they have, it's a pleasure to see.

smoke.... oops I still do will try to stop one day....not today!!

I hope I'm not a pot stirrer but probably am in a way. Bad timing for me due to a trip I had planned to fly my kid out to the grandparents in North Carolina. Trying to set something up with the good lady Charlotte and other Californians. But I will be saving my pennys for a Virgina trip. So there
And sorry I didn't do the Sacramento meet and greet....I knew nothing of it for some reason.
If I have pissed anyone off (AlienSpaceBabe) I humbly apologize! You are some great people who I would love to meet and enjoy many, many, many drinks with. I mean alot of drinks!

I hope that you will not buy into the misconception that the OUCH convention is nothing but “one big party”. While there is some after hours socializing and there are some who enjoy drinking, the vast majority of the time spent at convention is at the educational sessions, the general meeting and the banquet. There are many folks there who do not drink (just ask Jean about her Diet Dr Pepper’s) and they too will sit around socializing and comparing war stories about CH and it’s effect on their lives.
There is good information being presented by well known speakers and we learn more and more from each other every time we meet. Don’t let the “party” aspect keep you away. We would love to meet you face to face some day! The happiness you see on the faces of those who attended convention is genuine…and not always alcohol induced.

Take John D for example (not picking on you John) just using you as an example.On John's profile, he did not fill out his email, age or even where he is from. Now he may change that sometime, but only when he is ready. Those of us that have been here for many years and have met numerous times, to us everyone is family.
Not everyone is ready for that or even want that. We all were a little nervous about going to our first convention for different reasons. But those that have gone usually go back every year or as often as they can. For some it may be as basic as no money, or cigarette smoke triggers a cycle, or just not comfortable around people. For those that DO cause trouble on here all the time, yeah, probably fear
