Phantom Cluster? A Hit This Evening....

Been under lots of stress lately, and have just been pushing myself past limits. When you've got a million things going on, limits are a joke. Well, the last couple of days I have had time to relax a bit. Sunday evening, my tooth started hurting bad, so I wound up with an emergency appointment for root extraction at 4pm Tuesday. Tuesday morning when I woke up, my right sinus was stuffed, I had alot of pressure in my temple/ eye area, but no pain. I've ben shadowing off and on for a couple of weeks, and upped the Verapamil from 360 2x a day to 480 2x a day. My Doc wanted to up it a couple of months ago, but I told him I wanted to wait on going up on the dose - just in case. It looks like it was a good thing I waited. I can't think of anything worse than going all the way up to 10 with no option of an 11 (if ya know what I mean). I've had this before with the pressure and clogged sinus without the pain, but this was strange. I'm thinking the tooth may have caused it, since my gum had a popping in it (which was the root breaking up) and later my sinus on the right side was popping. I consider this a 'phantom cluster' if you will. So, this has me a tad paranoid that the CH is trying to return. Peace, Carl D *updated at bottom instead of starting another thread

When I had an infection in my wisdom tooth there was a dramatic increase. Once it was extracted there was a peak and things went back to normal. You know the drill regardless Feel good brother!

When I split my wisdom tooth on a bone splinter a few years back, I had the same reaction after the tooth was removed. I thought it was just a coincidence, but maybe not dragn

Hey Carl.. Andrew Sewell (Dr) refers to this as a silent attack. 'Ya know...the symptoms, with no pain. This is evidently something that they have noticed lots of CH'ers have. Take care, sweetie... Jean

I woke up shadowing today... but man did I get some sleep! Quote:Andrew Sewell (Dr) refers to this as a silent attack. 'Ya know...the symptoms, with no pain. This is evidently something that they have noticed lots of CH'ers have. |
| I've had this before, but Tuesday's silent attack was really strong. I was almost amazed that I had that much pressure with no pain. Peace, Carl D

Carl, I hope that in your case this just a reminder and nothing else... ...but what comes to me, this Spring when I went to the dentist (who screwed up one tooth and I had to go back) my ch cycle started. Luckily I stayed episodic, though. PF wishes, Sanna

That is what I have been fearing Sanna, is that this will kick off a cycle. I am hoping like Eric said though that it is just irritating me cause of the tooth and in a few days I'll be back to normal. Upped the Verapamil just in case though. Peace, Carl D

It happened. 6pm this evening as soon as I got back to my brother's house and started relaxing and cooling off. Got hit with a level 6-7 and it freaked my sis in law out. I hid in the bathroom for most of it, as I don't like for my 6 year old nephew to see this shit. The last time he saw m in an attack I swear it was like he regressed several years in 5 minutes. I decided to stay at my oven tonight, just in case I get woke up with another CH. Crossing my fingers, but still freaking. My jaw popped today so loud my sis in law heard it across the room and couldn't believe how loud it was. I am thinking that triggered this evenings episode, as when I was chronic everytime my jaw popped hard, it would trigger a CH later on. This is gonna be one long night. Peace, Carl D

I was late for work today. Got about 2 hours total sleep. Woke up once with my shoulder feeling like it had an axe buried in it, my leg hurting. Took some Vicodin and got back to sleep. Woke up again about 4:30am with an attack, lasted about 45 minutes, level 8. Before I could get out the door today to try and run another errand I got hit again for another hour before the Frova kicked in. Limped to work with my leg hurting bad and have a fun day ahead of me. Just frustrated and pissed, but not letting this stop me. I plan on getting in some time on the weights today to try and combat the leg problems - I just hope I don't make things worse in the process. Will be gauging myself throughout the day. I've got too much going on right now and am not ready to start cycling again. I cranked the Verapamil back up to 480mg 2x a day from 360 2x a day. My Doc wanted to a couple of months ago but I waited for a moment like this. Like I said, I didn't want to go all the way to ten without the option of an eleven. Right now I cannot get an o2 tank because with how hot my apartment stays, that sucker would blow up for sure. I have enough disasters to deal with at the moment. One thing at a time. Off to do some work. Peace, Carl D *I have to add... I was practically ecstatic at my brothers house when I weighed myself yesterday. I have been working out the past couple of months to try and get back into something other than the shape I have been in. I have gone from 197 down to 176!!! I can now wear a large shirt instead of an extra large, have gone up two notches on my belt and discovered today I have to put a new notch in the belt because it is getting loose again. That is one thing I feel good about right now. If I get down into the 160's - oh man! At the rate I am going, it won't take long.
