It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Both fibro and clusters involve a messed up serotonin metabolism. Both involve an increase in mast cells (that dump histamine and other goodies). Both have an increase in inflammatory immune hormones like IL-1 and IL-6. Clusterheads and Fibromyalgians both tend to be magnesium deficient, maybe due to diet, but maybe partially due to genetic specialness in how they absorb and transport different mineral ions. If one has the genes responsible for the things above, then I'm guessing they are probably at an increased risk of both clusters and fibro. I would call them distinct, possibly related conditions.

I have fibro, but I've had CH longer than the fibro. I've heard that it is related, but I could never prove it. I never feel a connection between the two. I know exactly what triggered the fibro for me, but as far as the CH, I have no idea what triggered these damn things.
