Too much to write, since I just wrote it all out once and don't feel like doing it again.
In short... insomnia is screwing with me bad. I parted ways with Hairzilla this weekend. I got a call last night that an old friend is in a jam with his band this weekend and they need a guitarist for saturday night only. So, with a deep breath I said yes, and will probably not get much sleep since I have to learn about 3 hours worth of material (guitar solos included) and will be using loaner gear again. I have fifty things to do in two days, and am in panic mode. I feel like I have been beat to hell, and live in an oven. I am about to lose a tooth and look like a true hick due to a hackjob done by a Hannibal-wannabe-dentist, and will eventually lose another front tooth the bastage did. And so on and so forth. If you want the low-down, read my blog from today.
I am hell bent and determined though, and am not letting anything get to me (HA!) and a friend recently said "You've been more fighty than flighty lately and it is scaring me." My response? "YA THINK?" I call him "Freddie Downer" because for every positive thing I say he responds with three negatives and I don't need anymore negativity - I have all I can handle right now thank you very much! Just trying to keep focused and balanced until I finally do drop.
Also in talks with another friend about doing a BLACK SABBATH tribute band (Ozzy years only) - which, Sabbath and Ozzy are two of my biggest influences since my youth, and it feels like the time is right for it.
I'm fighting everything tooth and nail and if I can't sleep - I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead!!!
Okay, so I just typed more than I thought I could in just a couple of minutes. Back to the daily grind.

Hopefully the gig works out for ya but should you of left the sure thing for a one niter ? I mean I understand about helpin the friend out and all.......but sumtimes friends KNOW you will drop everything and help THEM out even if you end up 'alone' and down and out in the end. Or maybe ya was gettin tired of the 'hairy band' ? Good luck learnin all the other guitar stuff.......am sure you can do it ! Course that'd be a big stress mess for me and me and Brad both tend to get caught up into that 'helping out' stuff and cause un needed stress on ourselves alot anyhow too. Insomnia catches up with ya.........so hopein you can get some YOU rest time Pam

Coots - I left the band over the weekend. Things went sour. Not gonna sweat it or fret it. I got the call last night for this gig on Saturday and so I am back to cramming tunes. I was miserable in the other band, but doing the Sabbath tribute would feel natural to me - and no wig!!!
Thomas - Compared to where I was at this time last year, I am doing really good. That is why I am doing everything I can right now because I know what lurks Beyond the Shadow.
Unless some other situation pops up between now and then, I hope to get some rest next week. Trust me, I am exhausted, but even if I lay down - the legs don't stop moving and that keeps me awake. I told my sis in law I almost feel like I would feel better if I ran a marathon. However, I'm lucky if I can run a block due to my breathing (unless chased, then fuck the breathing). Got the news earlier this year that I have the lungs of a 60 year old and onset of emphysema. Being the smartass I am I just asked the Doc "So what's the bad news?" Between smoking 26 years and living in an industrial town (where we just learned on the news they did alot of radiation testing years ago) it is amazing I can breathe. This town is a trip. Where else does it rain metal particle flakes out of nowhere? (NOT KIDDING on THAT one). Lung disease runs in my family and my lungs have been abused like a red-headed stepchild at Neverland ranch.
Right now I am trying to think of the best name for a Sabbath tribute band while my client is asleep in his chair. Sabbra Cadabra is already taken, so am considering either "After Forever", "Wicked World" or "Symptoms of Sabbath"
Didja know there is a Sabbath tribute act named "Sack Blabbath"? That name makes me randy for some reason.

NO MORE WIGS - EVER!!!
Playing is fun. Being on stage is fun. Being Hairzilla - was not fun. It was torture. However, learned a few valuable lessons from the experience. I look at it as just a building block for better things to come.

I saw the documentary 'Tribute' recently about tribute bands. It looked like alot of ups and downs. Funny they had a tribute band for KISS on there and the lead singer in Stanley gear was a black guy who looked just like dave chapelle. Good watch if you get a chance to catch it.

Now I shall panic...
I just got emailed the set list for saturday night. I haven't even HEARD some of these songs, have never attempted to play some of these songs... luckily I know about 10 of them...out of like 40!!!!
Now to learn the fucking rest of the shit I don't have a clue about. 
This is why I got the name Mack Danger. I jump into shit harder than a mack truck and then figure it out AFTER I'm already in the mire!

My girlfriend has it and she has been a smoker forever......big time. Plus she has asthma and chronic bronchitis and short winded and coughs alot. She had tests recently and they told her that is what she had. Guess that is why they tell us when younger to TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES and we will live longer and feel better as you age.....but who listens ??? Havein a history of stuff like that would definetly pay off to listen. Yeah I wonderd if ya were happy with the 'hairy' band........it's one thing to be a good tribute band but to have to wear wigs and props would make it rough esp when overheatin on stage and tryin to walk in wierd clothes and keep wigs on yer head or makeup from runnin into yer eyes. Bein a musician is a struggle unless you can get noticed and a jump start to the top....got alot of friends in bands. Sum stay comfortable and happy doin local gigs and occational festival here or there but alot of em get itchy and board and try to move on or keep movein till they find 'that special spot'. We go to this event called 'rally in the alley' on Fridays to a nearby town and see tribute bands.....it runs from May thru to October. We usually always ride out with a group of freinds and meet for dinner first......really look forward to it and alot of fun. They have some vendors and beer and drink trucks. (draft beer baaaaaaad but I have a few anyhow) All the bands are professionals. The band this Friday is called "Two Skinny Dorks"......they do Sly and the Family Stone music and funk but they sure have a strange name. There is a famous Led Zepplin Band comeing in Sept called Zoso.....mite just be famour is our area I dunno....and the Pink Flyod tribute band 'Wish You Were Here'. Got some Doors comein up and Crosby Stills and Nash and a couple good blues bands also. The summer town parties are gettin to be a popular thing.......wonder if the bands make alot doin it cuz each week there is a new sponsor for the band playin ? Wonder if they get paid WELL. Tribute to myself Pam
