I was fortunate enough to sail the high seas when the world wasn't so pissed off at each other and visited some great countries. I really liked Australia, how about you guys?
I was banned from the Gold Coast International Hotel for life, so you can tell how much fun I had there! lol.

Ahhhhh, the warm waters of the Carribean. I guess the snorkeling in Michigan isn't that great.
Believe it or not, Honduras is a great place to float around or dive. Love Roatan!

Third vote for the Caribbean! Specifically, the Yucatan Peninsula. Or St Thomas.......or......orrrr.........oh, too many spots to mention!
If ya go to Cozumel, be sure to go see Xcaret, an archaeo-ecological Disneyland, complete with underground rivers, which end up right on the most pristine beach, complete with hammocks.........

Gorgeous waters, the world's 2nd largest coral reef, snorkling till you're a prune, and wonderfully natural lush landscape, friendly people and.and .........it's my fave so far!

But, I still have a lot of world to see!

Cathi   Cool

Today, my vote would be Wakesha, WI Undecided

Bahamas, out-islands!  Great diving, snorkeling, fishing.  The best part is the hot sun in Feb. when you know back home it's snowing 24/7 and Blueballs below zero.

I have found that years I go down there I usually skipped my spring-summer cycle.

Nothing like that reef in this hemisphere. I've dived Cozumel and know the rivers and caves. Didn't have an twinch of pain but I also couldn't pass by a toilet with out pooping fire!
Great place if you want to diet!

Wildwood & Cape May, New Jersey...seriously...they're beautiful places...plus I don't get out much.

Most over-rated is Hawai...Too expensive.

Spent time...(like any good sailor) in Perth, Hobart & Sydney Australia...but I don't remember too much. Somehow, methinks alcohol was involved.

Hey, we were neighbors...I was across the beam in 4th Division...I don't remember our motto, if we even had one...but it probably went something like..."Leave it, somebody else will do it."

I'm planning on going to Pearl & visit in October. 58.000 tons, 212,000 horsepower 20 mile beach-making piece of fine american craftsmanship...

I am not exactly an experienced world traveller, but I loved the island of Virgin Gorda in the carribbean.  When I was there, 20+ years ago, i believe it was uninhabited.

Also the island of Madeira is absolutely wonderful.  Quite a bit of culture there, very beautiful.  Probably my fav place.

ohhh, to dream.

The only place to visit for a holiday... or as our American cousins say, 'vacation', is Pembrokeshire, here in the Wild West Wales!!

But as I live here, I'm probably biased  Grin

Anguilla is definitely a very nice place, especially if a person likes low key activities.  The Connors are very nice people. You could pop in and visit Karma in St. Maartin.

In terms of scenic beauty, I would put the Olympia/Delphi area of western Greece at the top of the list.

Karma lives on St Martin?!?!?!

I enjoyed that island too.  Its nice once you get onto foreign soil.  Orient Beach is quite nice.

People are SOO laid back there.  A dude we were with stopped his car in the middle of the road blocking traffic, got out walked across the street and got a beer, came back to the car and we drove off.  Nobody even beeped their horn!  they just waited patiently while the dude got his beer.

Funny stuff.

Never lived anywhere but the Caribbean. St. Maarten's been home for about thirty years.

Hey B,
Virgin Gorda has been populated since before Columbus. laugh
I used to spend allot of time cruising through the B.V.I. when I was growing up. Best sailing by far.
Flo,
Anguilla is changing fast and if you know the Connor family then you know half the population in Anguilla. Great place to visit but a little slow even for me.

If anyones headed this way give me  a shout.
