So, how did you kick off your weekend?

The last few weeks I've been overwhelmed with housing transactions and car repairs. I haven't worked on cars in years (prolly 25), but lately due to running two househols, funds have been short and I'm not so quick to take things into the shop. Last weeknd was an alternator in my boys truck, and yesterday a water pump., belts, and hoses in the same vehicle. Lots of dirty work, but I figure I saved over a thousand dollars doing them myself. A good bonding experience as well. I really need that weekend in Milwaulee.

I kicked it off with a sick husband and daughter. Yup, it's a viral weekend for us! Hubby's birthday is on Monday and we're having sons birthday party (his was June 23rd) on the 4th. Cookout and then fireworks at the fairgrounds. Hopefully everyone feels better before then!

| Can you bring your car tools and stay an extra day or so? My little Focus has a couple of issues. (just kidding). Consider yourself lucky to be mechanically minded. I kicked off my weekend with a day trip to a small town nearby with some art galleries and an evening at a really cool outdoor Shakespeare theatre.

I am starting mine off with one helluva headache. Not CH, spent the day at the pool with the kids yesterday and got a sunburned scalp. Damn I hate when that happens. Cat

| My sons were stunned. They've never seen me turn a wrench and just figured I didn't know my way around under the hood. It would really freak them out if they saw me welding under water or jumping into the ocean from a helicopter in full diving gear. They think I'm just a suit.

I started my holiday weekend watching the race car fall out of a race, came home to a virus infected PC (the wife's) and a yard in bad need of mowing. All in all.......I'd rather be working. At least it pays well. Bill

Had 12 kids and 7 friends for dinner last night and a bloody brilliant time was had by all! I've been out this morning to buy paint to paint a table and my computer desk and my kitchen cupboards. Had friends around this pm for an anti footie party and tomorrow I'm off to London with three kids (one not mine, Barney is on a school trip!) to see the 10K run with 10 runners in it running for OUCH UK... so I've got to go and support them haven't I?! One of the runners is DaveyP or Dape as he is lovingly known so I'll be sure and let you know how he gets on and post pics. Dape if you are reading this get your sorry arse to bed y'hear?!

Ohlllritethen. what is it yew mean by "anti footie"????? I'm disturbed by this. After all, i've been pro footie for quite sum time now.............i had ab-SO-lute-ly NO IDEA that any one other than MEEEEE thought or SED the word "footie". I may have to stop eating bugles now. (sob) followed by more bugle crunching. in a thoughtful and dignified manner.

LMAO, I've missed your careful and dignified manner! I meant footie as in the English sense, or soccer (sucker?) as you all call it!

Charlie I want to come live with you. I started my day off cooking eggs, grits, bacon and biscuts and tomato with bacon grease over it. Then I cleaned up the kitchen with Devenys help. Then Deveny and I redid a file cabnit that took almost all day. Then we cleaned house really fast. Buddy spent the day working in the yard, and taking a dip with JD in the kid pool ! Then he cooked some chicken on the grill while Deveny and I fixed greek sald, and baked beans. Then cleaned up the kitchen. I hope tomorrow is a little less go go.

| ABSOLUTELY !!! Just PM me yours and Elaine's address. We have alot of different hot dogs here. Probably the most famous is Nathan's Original from Coney Island. My Favorite is Karl Ehlmer Old Fashioned. They are vacumn sealed so I can more than likely send them straight out but I might have to dry ice the box.....Either way I'll get them out by Wednesday July 5th. Probably FED EX or Overnight UPS. Nathan's is known for a crunchy skin, so when you pm me let me know if you DO NOT want that original type, as they sell skinless as well. If you do not grill them may I suggest that you boil them in beer---it is wonderful.....We have a hot dog stand two miles from where I live that has lines going about two blocks everyday. The name is "Walter's Franks." Mamaroneck, New York. Walter lives in a mansion and has many zero's after 1 in his savings account............So we take our hot dogs very seriously !!!!

Well... My weekend started today, so I made potato salad for my wife's cookout tomorrow. I tried to make it like my mom does... It prolly would've helped if I had the recipe instead of tryin' to remember watching her make it when I was a kid... Oh well... Didn't turn out too bad, even if it's not as good.
