Any F1 Fans Out There?

I'm new to the board, so you probably don't know I live in Indianapolis. We are hosting the F1 race this weekend, and I'm hopeful it is a good race this year. The contract is up after this year, and after last years debacle(all drivers on Michelin tires pulled out before the race), the Speedway has no tolerance for any more bullshit. I was thinking that since we have so many international people hooked up here, there must be a few people who follow F1. Got a favorite driver? Team? Does the kid win again?...hello Spain? Are you there?

I love F1! I was this close <holding finger and thumb about 1" apart> to getting Golden Tickets for this year's USGP. Sadly, it didn't happen. F1 is the last of my races to see, been to Indy twice, NASCAR four times and NHRA three. F1 is the last one. Kimi is probably my fav driver after Michael, closely followed by Button. Are you going to the race? If so, have a great time. F1 RULES!!

Don't mention that bloody Schuey around me! One of my lifes ambitions is to sit that ^&*()$ down and explain to him what sportsmanship means. Anyone with his talent who emplots the downright dirty tactics he does doesn't deserve to be a role model to kids. I like DC, he is a true sportsman and a thoroughly decent gut with it, I agree with you on Button, he is definitely one to watch and as for Mark Webber, I met him a couple of years ago at Silverstone an we had a great time telling dirty jokes! He is a bloody good driver as well as a very nice guy and I absolutely think he is one to watch. Montoya? He just hasn't made the transition. flashs of brilliance but too mercurial and I don't think he wants it enough. Kimi DOES but the car keeps letting him down. I'm loving watching Alonso do so well and F1 is an exciting sport again at last after too long of it being a one horse race. One of the most shameful episodes in FI history was lasts years Indy GP. I understand it was political but it was a complete farce. Having said that, I'll be watching!

Are we talking about the same Michael? The one who gave the first place trophy to Rubens after team orders made Rubens move to second? Remember that he was fined for making Rubens stand in the first place podium spot. I thought that was pretty stand up. It wasn't his fault that Todt gave the order.

Yes, the same Michael who was moved to the back of the grid GP before last for trying to wreck Alonso's fast lap, the same shitbag Schuey who pulled a really shitty stunt on Villeneuve which broke his legs, the same Schuey who has more complaints against him than any other driver.. how many GP's do you watch Tom?! LMAO

I followed F1 for years.....back when you had to stay up all night to watch the feed on ESPN. After May of 1994, I lost interest for the most part, though I do watch the USGP. I would have gone to Indy this year (because I think it will be the last F1 race held there) but the date was too close to the OUCH Convention and I couldn't swing 2 trips that close together. Kissmyglass.......thanks! We need all the support we can get right now. What a off year....... Bill

Hey Tom K- Sorry your tix fell through...hope you complete the 'Indy Slam' soon! I'm not going this year...thought about quals today, but it is f**king hot here...90 plus. Beers at the track count triple in this heat, and the pool is much closer to home. I did have great seats for the 500 though...what an awesome race this year. Wildhaus, I like your drivers...good luck! Helen, I'm with you, I'm glad the Ferrari run is over...although today's results kind of sucked! Btw, we will be sending over a kid named Graham Rahal soon...looks like a promising young driver, named after some Limey who had some success years ago Jonny, thanks for the pic...I'm now a #41 fan too!

Ok, race over, bad result. Nice job again, Michelin. Word has it that they brought a 'performance' tire, then advised the teams not to use it. This after buying 20,000 tickets to make up for last year. One would think they would get it right, but gave the teams a Fred Flinstone tire. Glad they're gone next year!
