DJ Do not open this thread. PLEASE !

and if you did open it...now is the time to close it. A while ago several of us were talking about setting up a "money Tree" for DJ at the convention. I hadn't heard anything lately that anyone had made any other plans, so I am taking it upon myself. DJ has done so much for all of us and besides that he's a great guy, so.. when I get to Milwaukee Melissa has said she will take me to a store where I'll buy one of those small fake trees and some clothes-pins and set up the tree in the hospitality suite or something and everyone can clip some bucks to the tree. I will keep track of who donated (not the amount, just the names) and give it to him. I thought it would be nice to present it to him after dinner on Saturday night and before the auction. For those of you who cannot attend the convention and would like to add something to the tree, you can either send it to someone you know will be there, or send it to me and I will put it on the tree for you. (pm me for my address) You do not have to donate a lot. No one here is a millionaire. A buck or two (or more) is just fine, but please no coins LOL I'll make sure that someone posts a pic of us giving it to him. Linda

You should have Mel make a balloon tree and people could pin money to it

Linda, paper clips would work much better than pins, and I always have a couple boxes in my job tote, so don't worry about that. Just concentrate on the tree. on Jun 28th, 2006, 2:12pm, Bob P wrote:You should have Mel make a balloon tree and people could pin money to it |

Mast, a balloon tree? You mean with putting donations inside of the balloons, not pinning them on, right?? Yeah, that can be done, but all the donations would need to be in before the tree would be built, as it would take an hour or 2 to create and I wouldn't be able to add to it once it's finished. I am doing something for OUCH before the tech session on Friday, so Friday morning or Thursday midday would work for me to do it, unless someone else knows how to make one? I've never done a tree before. I do have some leftover green balloons from the grad party that can be used... A fake tree might be a better idea as people can put it on themselves at their own pace and won't feel rushed. Talk amongst yourselves and then let me know. melly

LOL, you on a balloon kick Mast? Besides, I won't be bringing my helium tank, as it's too big for my trunk and the gas costs $$$. A small disposable helium tank can be purchased at Walmart for like, $25 or $27. I believe it has enough to fill 50 11" balloons. All in all I think the fake $ tree is a splendid idea and I think Deej will just love it.

I think the next White House Christmas tree would be in order. (Sorry, I got swept up in the enthusiasm. On second thought, nevermind)

1. No chance Jonny ever gives away singles. Too valuable at the strip joints! 2. Make sure you make the helium tank clearly with large letters. It would suck to get hit and then sound like an elf cursing out the person who grabbed the helium instaed of O2 for you. 3. Anyone got PayPal so i can send a few bucks to clip on the tree. PM me.

Linda, It doesn't have anything to do with honesty, just easy to send money via PayPal. I'll figure out another way. Maybe I can get money to a Missouri Cher going to the convention. That seems easier.

Linda, Paypal has been just fine. All you have to remember is to never never respond to email from "Paypal." Go the long way around. Go to the site and use your password. Never go there the easy way from email. So far, I've had no trouble. Fake paypals constantly warn me that my account is in deep shit. Not so. Just do it the hard way and you should do fine. God, it's handy. Charlie

I'm in Linda... What a great idea... Without this sight, I would never have known so many wonderful caring people.. But it would have really been nice if you would have told me a week ago... I just sent a donation through Paypal on Monday, but I know that I can come up with another dollar or two . Peace & Blessing Lady Luv
