Too close for comfort.

I just got off the phone with my brother Terry. He works graveyard shift at the factory, and was on his way home this morning on his motorcycle, when he decided to pull into the gas station at the last minute to get gas. Just as he pulls in the lot, a 4 door sedan goes airborn and barrel rolls in the air at a height of about 5 feet and lands right where he would have been stopped at the stop sign had he not pulled into the gas station.
Apparently, the old lady in the car was traveling too fast when she saw a cement truck stopped in front of her, and as she hit the breaks and swerved, her tires hit the tires of the truck and it sent her flying. She was throwen from her car. Terry called 911 from his cell phone and paramedics attempted to save her, but after about 15 minutes, they pulled the blanket over her.
Had he been at the stop sign he would have been crushed under the weight of the falling car. Needless to say he was freaked out.
Whatever it was that made him pull in to the gas station instead of waiting a couple more miles and getting gas closer to home, I don't know for sure, but my bet is on Mom looking over him.
