My first chance to meet a fellow clusterhead. I was so excited (not many of us here in SW Michigan! She left Illinois with explicit written directions to a great little bistro overlooking Lake Michigan. However ... she forgot that time zone change. I waited an hour and gave up. Got home to 2 messages from her saying she was on the way but had gotten a late start - would be about 30 minutes late. Of course here in the Eastern time zone that meant 1 1/2 hours late! I had an afternoon meeting and couldn't accomodate. We both felt awful! Anyone else who comes this way and would like to meet, please remember we are in EST. And, as a few fellow clusterheads can attest, this is a really lovely little town. I'm really sorry I can't make the convention since I'm at a family wedding that weekend. How much longer until I meet one of you?!? Kris

I hate to say this, but you should take a look at the manual that came with your answering machine. Almost all of them these days allow the user to check messages from a remote location (or from a cell phone) by entering a short numeric code.

How many ppl actually check their answering machine messages remotely when they're not traveling? I think the last time I did was 2 years ago, and it was only because I needed the number off a saved message. I'm sure that if Kris knew DonnaH was gonna leave a message, she'd of checked if she could. Besides... How would receiving the messages a little earlier have helped? DonnaH probably didn't leave the messages until after she already knew that she was going to leave half an hour late, and therefore actually 1.5 hours late for the meeting, and Kris still had other arrangments to get to that would've kept her from waiting the 1.5 hours anyways. Sorry your plans to meet a clusterhead didn't work out. I'd offer to visit the next time i'm up that ways, but I don't think I'll be in the area anytime in the near future. I still have relatives in West Michigan, but since my parents moved to TN, I haven't really had much reason to head up that way. There's at least one clusterhead in Muskegon, so maybe y'all can work out a meeting. Good luck! PFDAN........................................................... ShadowLord
