Checking back

Haven't browsed in a while, and still suffering as usual. Had some painful attacks these last few weeks. To the point where I actually feel like I'm suffocating. It's when the pain peaks at full throttle in my head. I don't know if I'm holding my breath on instinct or what, But suffocation isn't really an exaggeration when thinking back to the low point of my last attack. Still haven't tried the oxygen yet! I was prescribed a new prescription which just more or less puts me to sleep and dopes me up. (NORTRIPTYLINE 50 mg - generic for 'PAMELOR') From what I was told it's an antidepressant. So I have graduated from a blood pressure script (VERAPAMIL) to this. A lot of good any of it has really done. I'm still feeling numbness in my teeth even without a flare up, and this has nothing to do with the meds. Certain teeth just go really numb then fade back to normal - 'crazy!' - and annoying! My lower right k9 I could swear feels loose when it gets like this, but I'm not sure if it's an effect of the numb feeling or what. Rubbed peppermint oil on my head during the last attack (it's like 'icy hot'). No big relief with that one. So same old cuhraaap! Just even more tired at this point of my skull feeling as if it's going to explode, and this being an expected common occurrence for little old me.

Definitely reconsider the oxygen. And be aware that it can take 1- 2 weeks or more to see any effect from a tryptiline, but a good percent of clusterheads who take those meds do benefit. People call them 'antidepressants' and they can help with that, but it is mostly a label - the first use of them was for depression, so it gets pigeon-holed as an antidepressant.

I'm dying to try oxygen actually, but thanks to my HMO I'm not eligible because I don't have a heart condition. I was made the offer by my doctor to swing by the next time I'm under an attack to receive free oxygen at his clinic. But the likelihood of me jumping in a car during an attack to fight traffic and sign myself in at the desk is stupid. (I'm trying not to suffocate here remember?) Believe it or not I have been enduring painful bouts of this still just so I wouldn't have to spend 500 bucks on an oxygen tank if I can receive one for free somehow. Five hundred bucks isn't going to kill me, but I'm starting to think these damn headaches are. I'm used to the almost daily pain but that doesn't mean it's easy to cope with at all, just used to coping after years of it now guess. It's legal here to receive a free card that permits you to grow up to two ounces of pot for medical purposes, yet if you don't have a heart condition oxygen is off limits to you. It seems like I would have an easier shot at getting the pot after being railroaded around here in attempting to receive a bloody oxygen tank.

you can rent the tanks for about 100 dollars a year with 15$ refills from a welding supply company.

I guess it would just make more sense to buy one at that rate. By the way, how often do you have to refill the thing? I'm getting headaches here on a daily basis multiple times.

I refill a couple times a year. Useing a home healthcare service the cost for o2 ( for me with my Ins) was around $200 dollars a month, vs $130 dollars a year. Since the O2 is part of a service it goes against your deductable, in my case I was going to have to pay $1500 before the Ins started coverage.
