Anybody know what....

...is the best way to store and preserve home made BBQ sauce, and how long it will last? Between all the tomato, mustard, brown sugar, honey, vinigar, and spices, one would think it's preserved well enough to last forever in the fridge, but I'd rather not chance it and anyone ever get ill. I've made sauce before, but always just enough for what I was making for the one meal. I decided to make enough to last the whole summer since Meg and Dyl love BBQ anything. Chops, Chix, Ribs, you name it. I have 2 quarts of the stuff cooling as I type. Anybody know? Pegg

I put a little malibu rum in mine, it gives it a little kick. Remember to leave a little room in the bag for the bbq to expand when it freezes so you don't have a mess........

| Hey, aren't we close enough to be "neighbors"? What's cooking? Most sauce that has vinegar should last eons in the fridge.

It's a 3 hour drive for ya bud, but the menu is: BBQ pork chops, Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad, Broccoli Cuts, and a loaf of fresh crusty whole grain bread. Mint CHocolate CHip Icecream with CHocoalte Syrup and marrichino CHerrys for dessert. Mmmm Mmmm Good

| Thanks Medic my man...I don't have room in this 2 BR closet, or I'd have kept all my canning things. Hawkman...I'm in Stevens Point..bout dead center of the state. Weather is awsome? I assume heat and humidity doesn't trigger your head? It does mine....thats why Dylan and my Brother got the air conditioner installed yesterday... he came up from Baraboo and we went on a nice long cycle Ride. It's a VTX 1800 (HD wannabe), but it does have a nice ride. That bowling ball on legs brother of mine will take his hands off the bars and lean back into me and the damn thing will keep going straight down the highway....balance is superb. I'm sunburned, but it's the first real color I've gotten in years...hahaha.

I know I'm late with this, but if you have any leftover jars with self sealing lids (like pickle, jelly or olive jars), you can can the sauce by heating it up and then putting it in the jars and giving the jars a hot water bath for 10 minutes, then put the lids on and stick then in the fridge. mel
