It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

So much of the recovery of New Orleans depends upon the kindness and generosity of others.  Re-electing Mr. Nagin sends a bad message to the rest of the country and dampens the hope of the continued concern of others about the reigion.

Most of the aid, and therefore the decisions, will come from the Feds and the well established infighting between the Govenor and the Mayor will only compromise the effort.

The choices were not good.  I don't think the voting public thought of the upcomming backlash in their choice.  In this case politics is not local.  Too bad that this reality was missed by the majority.

Louisiana always has had a bizarre political history since I was a kid. It spreads too.

I have great faith that Louisiana will be rebuilt better than ever. It will take a while but it will de done.

The city of New Orleans must be rebuilt. It is such a unique, beautiful and historic city that it has to be rebuilt. It is a treasure that America cannot afford to loose.

And it will be by the people no matter what politician, local, state or federal, tries to get in the way.

All the best to the people of Louisiana and all the gulf coast.

Actually, I'd lean more toward DPV syndrome (wonder who will figure out what this particular syndrome is?).  I was listening to the radio a couple of days before the election.  They were interviewing people who had voted by absentee ballot.  One person told the interviewer that she had voted even though she was living somewhere else and had NO intentions of moving back to New Orleans.

Actually, the choices in the run-off weren't that good, you had Landrieu on one hand and Nagin on the other hand.  Hmm, one who we know is an idiot and one who we suspect is an idiot.  Not much choice.  At least if a hurricane hits N.O. again, we know where to look for Nagin!  Dallas!

I'll close with this...

Go to nola.com and do a search for Chris Rose.  He recently released a book, "One Dead in Attic" which cronicals his first impressions after the storm.  His eye is complete and his stories are mixed with sadness, laughter and inspiration. His stories are a must read down here.

Read, if you want, his story, "Children of the Storm".  It is a commencement speach at a local high school.

Thank you BobG.

New Orleans is a city that I love, and I do have faith that it will come back better than before no matter who is in charge.

It has always been the people that make the city unique, not the politicians.  Although, the politicians are an interesting story in and of themselves.

Everyone needs to do what we are doing next week.  We are headed down for a convention, taking our dollars and putting them to use in the city.  We'll be spending money at the casino and all of our favorite restaurants.

Not much, but it's all we can do at this point.
