My Daughter has Become ....

A young woman.
I swear I remember her in diapers ... in kindergarten ... in middle school (undergoing horrible surgery for scoliosis) ... in high school (experimenting with boys and alcohol) ... in junior college (struggling over what she wanted to do with her future) ... during Medical Massage Training (which has given her a career and direction).
Tonight, over dinner - we became not only a mother/daugher team, but friends.
It only took 22 years, but was worth every single one of them.
Take heart other moms on this board .... it's all worth it!

I'm finally seeing the beginnings of the same thing. My daughter is 19, and the change in her during the last 12 months has been amazing to me. Even a year ago, I couldn't even picture an adult friendship. But now I see it gradually happening. Who'd have thought!

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Oh, that's so nice, Kris.  My daughter is 31 now and after a long, hard time... we're friends now, too. Counting the days to my friendship with mooshie now, LOL.

I am very happy for you! It is a whole new world. Both my daughters and myself talk about everything, heck they even cook me dinner and wait on me when I visit Don't you just love this part?
