Memorial Day is coming up in about 2 weeks. Let's make sure to thank all of
those people who selflessly provide our freedom and pray for those
still in the midst of this war. If you are a family member of a soldier, we thank you too!!!!!
By the way, I have a great nephew over there now and we are collecting goods to send to his squad on a continual basis. If you would like to contribute please let me know. Even a note to say you're thinking and praying for them would be great inspiration to them.
Some of the things they have mentioned are (this is a list from his squad):
Candy: twizzlers, hot tamales, good and plenty, tootsie rolls, gummy bears or worms, starburst, suckers (I think these may be for the children), and skittles. Those are what we could think of, anything else is good to. Not to much chocolate, I don’t think it’ll make the trip.
Snacks: cheez-its, Pringles(any kind), wheat thins, beef jerky, microwave popcorn, all that good stuff.
Coffee: We have a coffee pot just need coffee. No decaf! we need caffeine. Don’t need filters.
Card games: If someone can get us phase 10 that would be awesome. We have uno and skipbo. If you have any other card games we would love to get them. You can only play so much uno.
That is their list. Other things that I can think of are canned nuts, hard candies, presweetened kool aid or crystal light, crossword puzzel books or anything else that will occupy their down time.
Thank you for your support, I know we have different feelings about this situation, however, our men have no choice but to be there and serve the best they can. Our show of support is for them. They need us now.
Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated by so many.
