A giggle for parents........

My buddy's wife just sent this to me Quote:What's wrong with my child?????? He is obsessed with ....... produce!!! I am so serious, you have never seen a kid so preoccupied with fresh fruits and vegetables in your life. I dont mean eating them, just loving them. As I type this he is sleeping with 2 oranges. The number has been as high as 5 when I had a box of clementines. More were slept with and eventually discarded than were consumed in this house. He likes to sit on the couch with a pineapple, canoodles with pears (or sometimes tomatoes) and has even requested Mike come back as he's leaving for work because he didnt "kiss the lemon goodbye". Yesterday I had to draw the line at him sitting with a bag of onions. Onions for Godsake!! A bag of them! Today the potatoes were preferred over any other toy in the house. Forget how much the pumpkins we brought home from the farm got mauled! I can go on and on, its crazy. We thought about getting him the Fruit of the Month for Christmas. Again, Im serious. I think he would go bananas (pun intended) to see a box of fruit arrive every month. Weird, right? |

What's so strange -- when I was little I had a pet watermelon that Daddy brought home one day. I LOVED my watermelon and kept it close at all times. When I'd come home from school my watermelon would be waiting for me. But one day, my watermelon wasn't at the door to meet me and I got really upset..... Daddy told me that my watermelon had gone to watermelon heaven and that he'd get me a cantalop the next day. The catalop was nice, but it just never took the place of my watermelon. Hugs BD

Aw, I think it's cute, too. Even if he's 5, LOL. It could be worse, you know. He could be obsessed with meat. My kids all had their "things". Fortunately they weren't food things, but stuffed toys. We couldn't go anywhere without them. Mooshie had this little terrycloth doll (actually she had 5 of them but didn't know it...I kept replacing the dirty one with a clean one) and Jobo had a 5 ft long stuffed snake, LOL. The snake wasn't washable, so you can imagine what that looked like by his 6th birthday. He's 12 now, and it's still on his bed. At least he isn't taking ot to his school dances.

That is so cute! It is so funny how little kids have obsessions with things right off the bat. Eli is into cars, and not just any cars, they either have to be metal or have a hitch so he can pull stuff. He also likes to sleep with balloons and wear sissy's nailpolish.
