I've waited 30 years

I am going to see Dave Mason and Ian Hunter @ the Taj Majal in Atlantic City this Saturday night. The last time I saw Ian Hunter live was in NY around 30 years ago. I actualy met him that day but was too star struck to speak. I'm hoping for another chance to say hi in person, but it's not likely. I was a real Mott The Hoople fan in those days, and I still torture my sons by puting on a CD or two every now and then. They truly hate it. Too bad, it's my car.

It sounds like it will be a great time.  30 years is a long time to wait, but I bet it will be worth it.  Have fun. Grin

Cool..I have a  Mott The Hoople 'album'.......used to listen to it cranked up real loud a long long long time ago at parties and at home.......it and many others contributed to my chronic ringing in the ears. And I think Moody Blues cranked up almost all the way wearin headphones did a lil damage too. Mot the moody Pam

Anyone remember King Crimson......I got some good stuff but it's all on records tho (LP's) I see Savoy Brown is comein back around again too.

PS: Have a great time !!!!!

Hope you have a great time. Not sure who those guys are, but if it's worth a 30 year wait then they must be good.   headbanger

King Crimson is even a little before my time.
Wasn't Savoy Brown 'discovered' by Ed McMahon's Star Search?

The wait is over, it's now a memory. Ian Hunter was OLD! Holy crap, had to be 65 years old. Of course I knew this going in, but I expected a little more. Drummer with no kit, no base player, and the old guy sat through the whole set. Good to see him, but it could have been better. Now Dave Mason, on the other hand, was AWSOME! Played alot of his Traffic stuff, as well as some newer stuff. And of course he played his big commercial hit, "We just dissagree". Told the audience he just turned 60, and then proceded to kick ass. Great band, great sound system, small venue, Jack Daniels at the bar. Life was SEWEEEET!

Feeling a bit on the old side.
