Have you ever been able to "hear" your pulse in your ear?  It's like my eardrum is beating.  I don't know how to explain it.  It's really starting to drive me a little batty... like I'm not already batty enough?!   laugh  It's strange.  Just thought I'd see if anyone else has had this weird thing before.  Going to take a hot shower and off to bed to try to sleep through this.

How's your blood pressure, Karen? When mine is very high (and I haven't taken my BP meds) I can "hear" my pulse, also. Please get it checked sweetie. hugs, nani

Generally my blood pressure runs low or normal.  I didn't think about that but with all the excitement of getting ready to go tomorrow it may be high.  I'm not looking forward to leaving Chris and Colin... they'll be fine but I'm going to miss them like crazy.  I guess we will get used to me going out of town but I hate to think about it.  I will get it checked.  Never even thought about that.

Almost every time I go to bed, since I was a kid.

It used to scare me when I was a kid, because I had no reference for what it was.  I honestly believed that Thor (the superhero from the comic books) was inside my head swinging his hammer as he spun in a circle.  That's what it sounded like ...sump...sump...sump...sump.

Now, I rarely think about it.

LMAO...That's probably a good thing, Casey. I imagine it would be hard to live a normal life knowing Thor lives in your head.  Grin

Happens to me from time to time as well.  As in Nani's cas mine usually happens when my BP is up and/or in conjuction with a CH.  It does happen to me when I get attacks as well, but, my BP is always through the roof when I have an attack.  I agree, get it checked.  PF wishes.

I just got over it and it about drove me nuts......I have ringing in my ears 24/7.......used to listen to alot of loud music with loud speakers in my ears in vehicles and houses and live bands. I had alot of swoolen gland issuses when a kid forever up thru high school age wit high fevers ta boot. Kinda grew out of it fineally but think the NOISE is the end result of it all combined. Here's an interesting article about it. Ring in my ding Pam

Happens to me, too.  Especially if my heart rate is going faster than usual or during times of high stress/anticipation, so perhaps as Nani and all said, it could be when my BP is up, too?  Never thought to check it.

Hope it's stopped now!!

Bingo Pam. Cootie got it right. It's pulsatile tinnitus.

I had pulsatile tinnitus last year for a few weeks after I started taking Plavix, a blood thinner. It was bad because the loud sound of my heartbeat in my ears kept me awake all night long.

Many prescription and over-the-counter drugs may cause tinnitus and/or hearing loss that may be permanent or may disappear when the dosage is reduced or eliminated. Before starting treatment with any prescription drug, tinnitus sufferers should always ask their physician and/or pharmacist about the potential for ototoxic side effects. These drugs include; salicylate analgesics (higher doses of aspirin), naproxen sodium (Naprosyn, Aleve), ibuprofen, many other non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, aminoglycoside antibiotics, anti-depressants, loop-inhibiting diuretics, quinine/anti-malarials, oral contraceptives, and chemotherapy.

Google "pulsatile tinnitus" and read the 1st 20 sites to better understand your condition and treatments.

Be well, BB

Oh, I realized as I grew older it wasn't Thor.  Thor is good.  It is a damned demon with a Hammer, and a Nail.  And the least of my worries is when she swings it.  Its when she slams it into my eye, temple, and ear that I get upset.

I think something like it happens to me.
