NC/SC Meet and Greet

Please pardon my terrible delay in getting to you regarding the NC/SC Clusterhead gathering. As the days have screamed by I’ve realized that I’ve probably made a commitment that is starting to look unachievable.

Let me give you the summary. We didn’t really anticipate moving this year but my wife found this house down the street and we were “off to the races”. We’re in a hot market for housing so to get every dollar out of our old house we’ve had projects to complete before listing it. We’re about to wrap these up late this week. On the new house side, we wanted to get all the “big” projects done before moving in. These include gutting 3 bathrooms, repainting and wall coverings on most of the house interior, and new carpeting on 3 rooms once the worst of the work is done on the previously mentioned.

Had everything gone like clockwork we’d be in a position of having about 2/3 of the work done prior to the May 21 gathering. As it looks right now I’ll still have a lovely pool yard but not a single bathroom in full operation and nary an inside room ready for someone to sit in.

We would have been able to do it at my old house but there I will be in a whole other state of transition. None very conducive to hosting the event.

Needless to say, I’m extremely embarrassed as I’m usually a self-stickler about meeting commitments.  And, I don’t feel its appropriate to delay much longer.

So. We need a plan C, or a delay in the festivities. I would still love to do it but would have to push it out 60 days to feel confident in hosting it at our new house. It’s a really cool place to host so if this is an option I’d love it.

I didn't really have a "Plan C" Again, I am so, so sorry. Your ideas or thoughts?

Scott

Scott, don't you dare be embarrassed or apologize. It sounds like you really have your hands full. I'm sure if we give it some thought we can come up with an alternate time/place date. I just hope like hell It happens when I can be a part of it!

Since the convention hopes are looking slim to none for me I just gotta meet some clusterbuds or I'm gonna start thinking my computer is generating this whole board Grin

Scott,  I know I have been absent, but was looking to find out what was going on with this.  I feel your pain.  We too are having to get our house in top shape, it is already on the market, but we keep plugging away.  And-----------we don't even know where we are going.  Keep looking, but nothing has jumped out at us yet.  I would even vote for a cooler time for a get-together, something inbetween HOT too COLD.  Actually, as it turns out, Adam and I are unable to come up on the 21st anyway.
Keep us posted.

Thanks for posting this Scott.  Since I was out of town on vacation, and just back in, was going to double check with you today.  Don't worry.  We'll pull it together whenever you are ready.
