Cut off in traffic

So I am on my way home the other day and some guy almost causes and accident. I am traveling south on a one way street - 2 lanes wide. As I pass through a 4 way intersection (well really 2 way since it is a one way interesected by another one way, you get the idea) there is another lane added to the far right of the road so that people on the other one way that is intersecting the one I am on can get on my road without having to merge because instead of making them merge into the existing two lanes they add a third lane at that point. So the light turns green and I go through the intersection. As I do I see this guys turning right onto the road I am on. I am in the far right lane, which becomes the middle lane at the point where this guys gets on and gets his very own lane. I am assuming his light is red since mine is green, but he doesn't need to stop since he is getting his own lane in my direction. So I continue forward - our vehicles should end up side by side, me inthe middle lane and he in the far right lane. Apparently he wants to be in the carpool lane, but doesn't want to wait for the traffic that has the right of way, so he speeds up and cuts in front of me.and crosses all of the lanes of traffic in one fast move, no turn signal of course. If I do not slow down fast I crush the read end of this guy. At the stoplightwe come to he has the balls to bitch me about about being stupid, swears at me, threatens me, revs his engine a lot and when the light turns green he lays rubber. I was pissed the rest of the day. I tried to follow him but I lost him on the freeway, and it is probably better Idid I guess.....

Well, in cases like that for the last 20 years all I had to do is raise my arm to the steering wheel, the sight of a fully tattooed arm has never let me down If I was wearing a jacket I would just blow the dude a kiss (This could get you killed) and he would hit the gas (unless he was packing and a nut case) Your better off just letting it ride, you never know who the fucking maniac is in the other car, Bro.

I've had that happen before.and it does seem to ruin yer day.....mostly I get obsessed with how I handled shit and wish I'd of done differently. Sumtimes I jus GRIN ear to ear at people.........actin crazy is the best way. All the tatts definetly make a statement PAIN is no problem for you so they kinda get freaked. (doesn't seem to work as well for a women tho....why is that ?) But while were on the subject....what's with all the CRAZY people lately ? There all over our town.......reminds me of the liveing dead at times and creeps me OUT !!! I see em at Walmart and walkin thru town haunched over wierd with wild hair and crazy eyes and wearin BAZAAR clothes talkin to themselves with a little plastic bag of juice and razors. An amish guy was walkin across the street in front of me the other day when the light changed so I jus sat there and let him go on........so what's he do.......stops at my far headlight on the passenger side and starts lookin at me and talkin to me. I dunno what the hell he wanted or was sayin but he stayed there and I kinda thought he was goin to try to get into the truck like he thought I was pickin him up or sumthin ?? I didn't want to hit him but really did want to MOVE ALONG......so I jus sorta mouthed 'EXCUSE ME' and slowly moved thru the light which had turned yellow and didn't wanna knock the dumbass down with my side mirror that sticks way out either but that guy needed to STFU and get away from my truck. I could tell once he looked at me and started gibber jabbering he wasn't 'kite rite' in the head. So much for bein nice........got one lady that walks the streets with a bozo the clown look to her......red cheeks painted with makeup and nose and clown hair. Some guy sits on a bech in front of the courthouse and tries to 'direct traffic' and talks real loud shouting stuff makeing NO sense at all motioning for people to go here or go there or this way or that. Got a short odd looking freak dude that dyes his long hair black and carries a small brown paper bag folded up walking thru town daily. (daily drug deal amyabe ?) Then there is this guy that rides a small motor bike of shorts with big basket on it.....he has a huge wooley mustashe that sticks out on both sides and real groodey lookin. He buys supplies and picks up road kill in the baskets for his wolves at thome too. One crazy dude walks almost bent in half and snickers when he walks past a group of girls reaL SICK LIKE and he'll get onea them carts to sit in and RIDE around the store in to buy stuff. Talks to himself like crazy.......loud too and makes all sorts of sounds. One wierd person I see smells like crap so I know they must poop there pants all the time......that is GROSS as hell !!!! Do these people "know there WIERD" Pam

I think I'd have just gone ahead and hit him and let the cops straighten it out - let him pay a fine - make him LATE for his important appointment and let his insurance pay for my whiplash . But I'm a bitch and I don't let road rage get to me -- I just get even... I've just never understood why people are so rude driving. You're gonna get where you're going when you get there -- why not enjoy the ride... Hugs BD

I am usually very tolerant of others, well I try to be. I can be a pretty big ass at times but I have awareness and try to be responsible. It was a bad day and this pushed me over the edge. I guess I could have rolled up my sleeve, Jonny, but I only have one tat and this dude looked like he had more than one - advantage not a very nice person. I could have hit him I suppose, but what if I killed him. I gave him the courtesy of a fellow biker during the bad driving, but during the swearing aftermath I wish I would have hit him - having a moral code sucks plenty of times! I guess I am just not ready for the "I own the road" because of what I ride" mentality yet this year. I take offense at these guys because it makes the whole lot look bad when I am sure that is not the case, and I don't need people thinking that way about me.

We have horrible traffic conditions here also. I used to get very angry at times. Ever since the day I decided I was not going to let it effect me, it hasn't. Just life, and it ain't changing.

| Ahhhh, somewhere where the traffic jams move! I hate sitting in traffic, or going 5-10 MPH on a 5 lane interstate. I don't get too pissed off when ass-holes are on the road anymore. They get in a hurry, and end up waiting at the next light. I just shake my head when I pull up next to them. Not worth the blood pressure rise anymore. Although I still have my moments. (I hear ya Barb ...)

I can usually ignore or "not let it get to me" when some one ignorant of a situation makes a mistake, we all make them. But this situation was so over the top. When can you ever cut directly across 3 lanes at once? - NEVER. When does a turning vehicle have the right-of-way over someone else in a middle lane with a green light? - NEVER. When is it legal to change lanes without using a turn signal? NEVER. When is it appropriate to cuss out someone who just saved your life? Well there is no law for this one but I beleive NEVER. Its just the first not a very nice person biker sighting of the year, and since the weather here has been way above normal for this time of year, the fact that this came early caught me off guard I guess. Good spring weather is always a blessing and a curse around here. It is good I can ride earlier than normal, but also these guys who think they are better than everyone else and own the road because of what they drive are also out earlier. So now I get: to walk in the street because bikers park on the sidewalk blocking it; taunted on the road when I ride my bike; to close my windows and keep out the beautiful warm air so I can hear people talking in my living room; to lookout for not a very nice persons like this. There is a difference between "share the road with motorcycles" and "Ignore all traffic laws and common sense around a motorcylce".

We have a few traffic issues in Boston: One is direction of travel. Another is left over obstacles from the Friday afternoon rush to the Cape. Plus some issues with the Big Dig.
