First Mission with The Patriot Guards

Yesterday we (linda, myself , and my 82nd airborne nephew donnie) made our first ride with the PGR. We went at the request of the family of Marine SSGT. Jason C. Ramseyer a 28 yr. old husband and father of two beautiful little blond haired girls who was killed in Iraq on 4/20 by an ied. We were driving a cage(my explorer) so we took the tail gunner position once we hooked up with our group of 25 riders for the cruise up to NC. We arrived at the rally point several miles from the church and stood down as other groups from other areas came in. By the time the county police came to escort us trough town to the church we were 80 bikes and 10 cages strong with more American, Marine Corp abd POW?MIA flags flying than You can imagine. At the church we stood shoulder to shoulder in position to block any protesters from getting any where near the service. The chickenshit bastards fortunately did not show even though we had been informed that some would. Following the service I was honored to be chosen as part af the honor guard that flanked the family and mourners with our flags as the went to there cars. The guard then preceded the hearse through town to the cemetery where a similar honor guard had been prepositioned. After everyone had arrived we stood in formation across from the grave site while the full military ceremony took place. You have probably never seen more big burly bikers crying openly and unashamedly. Many of the family and friends went out of there way to come over and thank us and to pray that we continue to show that kind of support across the nation as our fallen heroes come home. Following our own debriefing and a prayer for a safe ride home we left in small groups heading in our respective directions. Some of the riders spent 20 hours on their bikes to attend. I have rarely been so moved and proud.......tim

I dont ride but I can stand. I signed up. Quote:God bless everyone in the Patriot Guard. Before we showed up at the services for LCPL Eric Palmisano, we were told there be representatives of your group there in support. We expected maybe 20 or 25 people. When my wife and I pulled into the funeral home parking lot with Eric's beloved dog Hannah, we were overcome by emotion when we saw well over 150 people from your group. We want to thank each and every one of you. You are all truly special people. |

I am proud to know you too Tanner. Thank you and all who do this. Tears of sympathy for the families of the fallen. Tears of pride for the Patriot Guard. and tears of disgust and shame for the protestors. Linda

Same old story. Really sorry you had to be there, but very glad that you were. What an awesome response to a shockingly evil activity. Bravo Zulu!
