I knew it.

I knew they wouldn't even wait out the 30 day warning they made me sign on 4/6 before they canned me. Company President walks in with Sonny_boy and cans me this morning...claims he'll give me a good reference if I need one, it's just a numbers thing...will have my earned check tomorrow, will pay me a full check for May 1-15 as my vacation and severance and will not fight Unemployment. Hmmmmm...... He's never had an honest word come out of his mouth, so I'm not sure what the hell to believe. I think they know I've been looking for different employment oportunities. Anyone need an administrative professional with the desire to telecommute?

while he's so full of love it may be worth seeing if you can get him to write a generic letter of recommendation and another one demonstrating your "separation" was not for any "cause" (action on your part). Getting these before you leave can be of great value for whatever your next move. and since you're leaving you shouldn't be afraid to ask for them. scott

| At this company it doesn't work that way Scott. You get canned... you have 15 minutes to clean out your desk, turn over your keys, they check your things to ensure you aren't taking any "company secrets or damming evidence against them" with you. It's all just a quarter's worth of lip service from the guy as always.

Sending nothing but good luck vibes to you too Pegg... but mr soon-to-be-ex-boss is going to get a few erectile dysfunction, embarrassing rash/itch/swelling vibes not to mention an early transmission failure on every car he owns from now until the end of time. Oh and HALF a worm in every apple he eats too!

Sorry to hear. No doubt there is something better over the next rise. From what you have said, these last few months have been less than pleasant anyway. What comes your way is likely to be far better. {{{{{{{{{{R}}}}}}}}

Nobody deserves that kind of treatment, Pegg! I wish I could hire you, but my little business is so poor it can't pay Attention anymore (old saying, but true). I'm with Scott - get the letters and get thee to the "help wanted ads." BTW - there are some pretty good online administrative jobs available. You have to wade through a bunch of crap before you find the better ones, but they're out there. Keep your chin up, Kris
