Still coping

Been away from the box for a bit, nothing really changed here for me (still awaiting my plea to go through for o2). On a good note I had a five day stretch headache free the other week, but then it was back to business at 3 or more episodes per day. As of this minute I haven't had one since waking up (about 6 hours now), and I'm hoping that previous trend starts up again. I know better though, and may get a day or two break. In any case, around 2am I felt the familiar feeling starting to creep up (or so I thought). After a muffled sneeze it never really materialized which is a good thing of course. But heres what I have noticed about my situation in particular. Those days (hopefully like today) where I can elude the attacks seem to be a trade off of sorts. Because I notice on those 'good days' certain teeth will just numb up on me. Right now my lower left canine feels like it's been shot up with Novocain. Another tooth on the upper right row to my 2 O'clock feels similar. Now they don't hurt or throb, just feel numb. Sort of annoyingly numb, but I would take the tooth numbness over an attack any day. I forgot to bring this up with my doctor again, but it seems like instead of the pain traveling up that jumble of nerves to my right eye-forehead, and lower right base of my neck. It's diverting itself on these 'good days' into my dental nerves somehow causing this numbing effect. Has anybody else experienced or heard anything like this before? P.S, I caught a short 'this is your health' segment on my local news about cluster headaches a few days ago. Nothing new really, and it only lasted about 45 seconds. But in it they show this figure on the screen describing how 70 in every 100,000 people suffer from this condition. Lucky me

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Yep, my teeth feel kinda numb and swollen along with all the other areas of the head. The pic jonny posted is a good indication of where the pain radiates. Vibes to ya. Maybe the beast will go into remission soon.

My god, I knew it was a central type nerve but that is the best illustration I have seen of the pain routes. Thank's for posting that, I'm going to save it. Then again, looking at that it's actually pretty frightening to see just the central location of it in the head. It explains the tooth discomfort though. It also scares the crap out of me considering just what the long term effects of that nerve being stressed really does to a person 10 or 20 years down the road. I haven't 'delved' into the medical text aspect of it all really too much. I know modern medicine is still attempting to unlock the mystery behind a lot of it. So I'm afraid to even ask, or find out what long term studies have been conducted since I get the feeling the discovery of CH doesn't exceed two or more decades. Hopefully I'm wrong assuming this.

Double post, but this has still got my attention lol. Looking at the - no pun 'cluster' of nerves running into or around the dental routes. Just by looking at that, it's seems more than plausible to me that perhaps some sort of trauma, < --------- (Wisdom teeth extraction prior to any previous symptoms) ...could in fact somehow trigger the cycles, and possibly the condition itself. At least that is my own popular theory as to how these things just sprang up on me at 24 all of a sudden without me having any prior even 'normal' migraine problems before that.
