The welfare caseload has gone down by 54% since 1996, if you can believe George Bush. There is now a two year limit on a welfare term with a 5 year lifetime limit, so the bogey-women who churn out babies for a fat government check haven't been paid in a few years. http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/welfarereform/
The shit would fly when you cut defense, medicare and social security, which together account for over half of the budget.
Foreign Aid amounts to a massive one percent of the budget, and half of that is military foreign aid (and Iraq and Israel get most of that).

I have ways to make up any budget problems for our government:
Nobody would have to pay taxes if they taxed every clusterhead an extra $0.10 per cigarette they smoked.
Also, what if they charged $50 per month (with insurance) for triptans and only gave you 6 doses for a month. (crap, they already do that)
If they charged Jonny an extra $.25 per beer he drinks.
Just my political ideas, I bet they don't fly well here.
P.S. I'm just kidding folks. Mostly wanted to take a few shots at Jonny (friendly shots, of course)

13 percent to the interest for the debt, I would hope that is being fiscaly conservitive to pay it off faster. Thats one thing I don't like about Bush, he spends like its going out of style.

Can't do that Bob -- that would be logical.... and you know damn well OUR government can't do anything logical. It would just be too simple!!!!
A 10% Fed sales tax on everything you buy (you buy you PAY) would collect more money and THEN it could be distributed. NO other taxes.... But when this was suggested they started trying to "improve" on it and give breaks for this that and the other -- defeated the whole thing! It wasn't FAIR to the rich because they SPEND more! Oh poor things!!! Get a clue.... you SPEND - you PAY!! That was the idea!!!!

Eh, question pleeeze. If we get to take home every dime we earn (which sounds really really good), how much of those dimes we have collected do we have to send to the government every third month?  You do realize that if our government, in their infinite wisdom  simplified the tax code as you are somewhat suggesting, EVERY ONE of those dimes would have to be sent in every third month.  because they would have already spent it before the got it.
But, I wanna visit Jonny World. Do you have roller coasters? Why not, the tax code/government does?
