Sorry to put a damper on the posts....

My turn to ask for prayers. Background information first. My wife's family was very poor when she was growing up. Most of the family lived in one home. (aunts, uncles, grandparents) This means the whole family is very close. Lynn's aunt, her mother's sister, died just about a year ago, from a combo of problems. 1) She had extreme rheumatoid arthritis, and years of taking Prednisone created fibrosis of the lungs. 2) Top that off with a nasty case of pneumonia. That effected the whole family, even though everyone knew the risks. Ok, now the current problem. Her grandmother has bone cancer. It was finally diagnosed in mid January. For money reasons, Lynn's mother has been nursing her grandmother. Twyla has gone from 160 lbs to just under 110 in the last month and a half. At this time she is not expected to make it thru the week. (i actually am surprised we didnt get a call during the night) My request is not for Twyla, but for the rest of the family, but mostly for Delene. Can you imagine nursing your own mother thru one of the most painful kinds of cancers out there, watching her die, slowly day by day? I cannot imagine what kind of turmoil is going thru her mind. Anyway, if you can, or think about it, some prayers would be appreciated. Thanks. Lance

| Actually yes.... yes I can. I pray for her to have strength through this. There will be time for self soothing later. I'm sure she doesn't think of it as a duty, or a necessity, but because it is just "done". It is what we do, we just don't think about it. Sorry I can't explain it better. Anyway, I hope it is not drawn out for a long time and that peace comes soon. When you see her, give her a hug from someone who's been there...ok? hugs, mel edited to add: I just love that name... "Twyla". It's beautiful.

Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of the ill. Amen. Lance we'll be thinking of you and your family. I am sorry for your troubles and the difficulties regarding this terrible disease. I have first hand knowledge of how devastating this can be I spend Oh I would say about 2 days each week in the Operating Rooms of the Memorial Soan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC with the Orthopedists who operate on and treat all kinds of cancer of the Musculo-skeletal system. We manufacture all the implants both off the shelf and custom devices for children all the way up to the elderly patient and I know how terrible this can be. Coincidentally I am just about ready to leave the house to got ther now for a surgery. My sympathies, you will all get through it. If I can help or give you some advice please feel free to email me privately. I distribute Orthopedic Implants and I am a non practicing R.N. that specialized in Oncology Nursing prior to going in to business 21 years ago. Good luck I will be thinking of you and your family. Burt

Thank you everyone for your warm thoughts and prayers. So far, "Granny" (her pet name) is hanging in there. I forgot to mention that the bone cancer mastisized, and is now infecting other parts of her body. A tumor was found in one lung, and they suspect a tumor in her brain. . I showed this thread to my wife last night and asked me to express her thanks to all of you. I cannot express what this family has come to mean to me. Thank you Lance
