Please only post positive and pro-Red Sox things here. Here's to a season where our pitching stays healthy!

| Typical Met fan who can't either read, follow directions, or be nice. It was a simple request and it only took 4 minutes for a Mutt fan to rudely ignore a simple request. P.S. You think Pedro will even get to 25 starts this season? He is already hurt and that is NOT a good sign.

My board name says who I root for, but I'll have to say that I will keep my eyes on the Sox. You have our third baseman (Mike Lowell), our shortstop (Alex Gonzalez - who's a defensive magician), and our star pitcher (Josh Beckett). With Beckett, you'll have to watch out for his blisters. He'll get them about a month into the season, then will be out for a month or two, then will come back and struggle, but become dominant down the stretch. That's been his pattern the last few years. ESPN The Magazine said this month that the Marlins will lose 100 games this year.... That sucks, but I am looking forward to going to the games. Aahhh, baseball season!

Hopefully the Marlins retooled their farm and can make another run in a year or two. It is funny how everyone thinks Burnett makes the Jays a ton better but forgets the Sox got Beckett. Also, *knock on wood*, it looks like Lowell is finally hitting the ball!

Burnett is a blown elbow ready to happen. The kid is in constant pain, but he's tough and fights thru it. I would not be surprised if he goes down for the season early on this year. We did retool the team, and do have a few good young pitching arms. Dontrelle is #1 in the rotation, and we have Vargas (who was unhittable the first 5 innings of every game he pitched last year when we called him up), and a couple of others.

The Marlins also got Mike Jacobs ( first Baseman ). from us. We really didn't want to let him go, as he is young and has a good bat. I really am pushing for the Marlins to have a great season. They might surprise alot of people. Young players that believe in themselves can be a very dangerous team.Good Luck .....I also loved when the Marlins beat the Yankees in the World Series !!!

| First, let me say I am glad you took my post the right way. I certainly was not trying to insult you and hoped it would be taken in jest. Second, I hate the Mets (1986 and the NY part) but I always root for them to have a better record than the Yanks because I know it would tick off King George and the Yanks. Third, Buckner is not a goat in my mind. The Sox had already blown the game and they still had game 7 and blew it. Had John McNamara put in Stapes like he did EVERY OTHER GAME, Billy wouldn't have been treated poorly in Boston. Lastly, Ghost..... I say GO CARDS as well. Not only is my wife (and her family) all Cards fans but the Cards fans were so classy at Game 4 in 2004 it is hard not to root for them anyway.

Fram---I know that you were kidding. Think of this ---we are force fed Yankee bleep always and ever....I go to the interleague games at Yankee Stadium and I root for my team---the fans around me are obnoxious and hurl threats my way all night....THEY CANNOT LOSE ENOUGH GAMES FOR ME TO BE HAPPY.I like most of their players---Jeter is a class act----It is the Yankee principal owner George...The guy's a buffoon----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------Here is one of my favorite jokes-----WHAT HAS 2,000 LEGS AND THREE TEETH------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------YANKEE BLEACHER SECTION.

Call me old fashioned but that image of the little boy never goes away. I never cared for it. Getting old I guess.... Anyway: I have that goofy Yankee sports channel (YES) so I get to watch pre-steriod baseball (hah!) from 25 years ago all winter. Thems wuz the daze. I still wanna see a White Sox-Cubs game. The souvenir possibilities boggle the mind. Red Sox would work too. Charlie

Die haard Yankee fan but I'm not gonna start the season bashing the Bo-sox. I've got enough respect for the sport to know that they are a great team. And it'll make the end of the season very intresting. For the poster earlier who said they'd like to see White Sox/Cubs I got to see them play their first inter-league series at Wrigley a few years ago and it was great. Would have been better if in the series but great none-the-less. I'm just psyched the season has started (I've got at least three different games that I can watch every night without hasving to buy some overpriced sports package. Bring It On! Pfunk!
