Good deeds

A long time old timer friend stopped over today to visit.....he has to be at least 85 or 86 yrs old now. We spent alot of weekends at horse shows together when she raced and he still does it every weekend in summer and also farms. His wife died a year ago and he lost his two dogs also.....then around Xmas someone broke into his house and took his safe he had hid he stashed his cash in and few items. Whom ever did it KNEW he had cash in there cuz they knew when he was gone and went directly in the bedroom for the safe and only took it leaveing guns ect sittin rite next to it. He's afraid they may come back for the other stuff. Really sad........he said he was lonely and hoped to be able to afford anouther pup or a dog sumday soon. So...."I gave him one of my pups I had for sale".......and gave him a carrier for it too and some food and the papers and info. The look on his face when he seem'd to GLOW when he held that pup was well worth it. He wouldn't even look at us when he left cuz I think he was tryin to avoid us seeing his teary eyes. Sure I could use the money esp with Brad's shop slowin down and economy gettin so scarey but........it felt RIGHT what I did Pam

That loving deed will come back to you a hundred times over, Pam.  What a very sweet thing to do - you've probably made that old man's day for him.

Pam you are a sweet caring and sharing person
Yesterday I took my best friend out to pet stores in the thunder and lightning and missed most of the race to help him get a kitten. He lost his "Annie" after 12 years and I know that will make him happy now that he has a house guest at his new home. Terry

That was an awesome thing to do Pam!  You should feel proud of yourself.  That man must have been so thrilled and overwelmed with your kindess.  And now he's not alone.  Dogs make such good companionship.

What kind of dog was it.  A chihuaua???

Thanks guys !!! Yeah it was a cream chihuahua.....but he will be 8 or 9 lbs takeing after his larger grandpa it seems. But he is goin to look just like a mini teeny weenie white german sheppard with those big ears and that body shape. Goin to be a neat looking dog. The thing is the friend was almost out the door when I grabbed up my two pups of mine (a chi and a jack russle I bought pups) to show him before he walked outside to leave. He stopped dead in his tracks and smiled and said OH MY....I SHOULD TAKE ONE OF THEM HOME WITH ME. Well then I mentiond I had two pups for sale (cuz those were mine both for breeding later on also) and told him they were in the rec room and did he want to see them and he turned around and said OK !!! He seen the pups and just BEAMED......so I grabbed the male for sale and gave it to him and he just stood there smileing stareing at it and didn't even say a word or move. Then he said he had no food or a crate or anything. So I told him to KEEP the pup and rustled up the other stuff. My step dad gets me totes cheap at the goodwill stores so I have extra. So it all worked out. That guy walked in 'slow motion' back thru the house cuddleing that pup to go outside to his car. It was a special moment and kind of odd how it happend. If I had been a second late to catch him leaveing with my pups to show him I'd of probly NOT ran outside with them and the conversation never of came up for him to see mine or get one. Mine had been playing in the rec room and got into a plant and made a mess and was gettin ready to put them back in there pen with dog door and run for the day when I snatched them up and caught the friend at the door on the way out. It all happen'd as if it was planned.....he'd of probly NOT taken one if we'd looked at them earlier cuz he'd just got here to visit a while. But after talking about his wife and looseing his other dogs and bein robbed he got sort of depressed and am sure he has been for a while now. He was happy to see us and be able to catch us at home and yak. Then reality of goin home to the empty house hit I am sure. But he now has a new buddy ! We were goin to go sumwhere that day too but for some reason I decided to just hang out at home and work on stuff. Otherwise we'd of missed him. Been along time since he's been here. Things happen for reasons Pam
