very bad news. not a joke

This morning, my sister called. Her brother-in-law was in a terrible accident sometime last night or early this morning. He was struck by a car or truck and found in a ditch by the highway. Steve is brain dead and the dr's were keeping him alive until the family arrived.
Her kids are here with me now, my sister Amy and her husband Buddy have not come back from the hospital in Richmond yet. I would have to guess that they have let Steve go by now.
Please keep Amy, Buddy, Buddy's mom Beatrice, and his sisters Bonnie and Patsy in your prayers. This is such a horrible tragedy

Thank you all for your concern.
They are home now. Steve passed away on his own this morning before my sis got to the hospital.
It was not a car accident. Steve was beaten and left by the side of the road. It was not an accident.

God, watch over all those affected by such needless tragedies. In particular watch over Steve, his family and friends and help them find strength in one another during this difficult time. Help them find justice and see anyone responsible for this senseless act removed from our society.

Jennifer I am so sorry I just got your I.M's. But thought I would respond here.This is horrid and I hope they find who ever did this to Steve.Sounds like he was a strong man to have so many things happen to him before this.His family and friends will be in my prayers and I'm going to the candle lighting page now to light one for Steve.I pray for the strength they all will need to get through this.I hope they keep hold of the beautiful memories of him.

I don't know what to say now. To see my brother in law's swollen eyes and feel his sob as I hugged him..there are no words. none.
I am spending time with my husband and kids tonight. Tomorrow I'll be taking care of some things for my sister hoping to ease some of the burden, as little help as I can be. I feel so incredibly helpless. I want so badly to fix things somehow and I can't fix this.
I am a fixer of things. And I can't.

Terrible thing to have happen......was he mugged or with a bad group or sumthin !? My freinds daughter was beaten and stabbed last year in Arizona and killed and left along side the road. Two other teens did it and they were goin to Vegas. I guess they just turned on her while in the car and the teen guy and girl took turns on her. So hard on the families.......best wishes for his family to get thru all this. I hope they find who did it !!! Justice for all Pam
