40 Days & 40 Nights... A Happy Anniversary.

Today marks 40 days I have been CH free. I have not had this long of a consecutive CH free period w/o the aid of alternate therapy, but the only thing I can attribute this to is the Verapamil, which my Doc has been generously upping each month, but I think I have reached the limit of what I can take right now. He initially started upping it due to high BP, though the CH's started slowing down in December; with a few mass spurts.

It was around this time 8 years ago I went chronic and the Verapamil that had been my salvation since 1994/95 when I went to the MHNI in Michigan quit working. It worked up until 1998 when it lost its effectiveness. So, it is a happy anniversary. I hope and pray it continues to work. So, is it too early to declare myself episodic again?  Cool

Still battling other physical probs, but my last doc appointment a month ago, my test results actually showed that the sleep deprivation has been affecting my immune system, thus the reason I have stayed sick. So, he began a full-on assault on the insomnia. I have been taking a double dose of Ativan at night, along with Lunesta and ReQuip for RLS. So far, I have got more sleep in one month than in the last six! Though this week I did have 3 sleepless nights - and man did I feel like a zombie the next day at work. I have to admit though, I feel much much better than I have in a long time. The only plague disturbing me is migraines, which I used to only get on occasion, but Frova has been doing a good job to help combat them. So, I have been keeping busy busy busy. I have 8 years to catch up on.   Grin

Peace & Love,
Carl

PS - I'll try to pop in when I can, but right now I am among the 66 million addicts to myspace.com, so it takes up alot of time maintaining two pages - my personal page and my music page.

Carl---that is wonderful. I have been pain free since December and it was a mix of Prednisone and Verapamil. Started hign on Prednisone---low on Verapamil then slowly switched it the other way around.

Carl,

Do yourself a favor and write notes to yourself about how wonderful this feels.  Save them for when you're feeling desperate, if that ever happens again.  You need prrof that this is real, and right now you can build your fortress.  Arm yourself for the next fight, and we'll all pray that it doesn't happen again.  Your best friend is you.

Whoah Limes - what's wit da hostility? I'm sorry I ain't been around much but believe it or not, I've truly been busy. When you go through periods of neing unable to do anything, and then get a break - I have been doing everything I can every moment I can. Life is pretty good right now. Gimme at least a 23 day extention so it covers my birthday and then the birthday hangover.  Grin

I've been doing it. I am also back to writing more, and working on music more + a job I've had the last 2 months. I can look at my early blogs on myspace when things were shitty as a reminder of what I just went through a few months ago, and the blogs I am writing now will remind me that life can once again be good. Honestly though, I need no reminders. Those days and nights haunt me. The beast somewhere...waits.

But to hell with him.

One downer this week. I've had a bad cough for 6 months now and my doc monday took x rays and did a PFT lung capacity test and in short, I clinically have the lungs of a 60 year old, I have lost a quarter of my lung capacity and now have emphysema. Ahhhhh Shiiiiii....
Not gonna freak though. I am quitting smoking, starting to work out, on new meds and an inhaler. So next month when I turn 36 my lungs will turn 61.  Roll Eyes

Not letting it get me down though. I have siblings to do that for me.  Grin

Hope y'all are well,
Carl

Oh sugar, I''ll be around. Especially since I don't have to risk baring my soul in moments of weakness.
