Told you guys it wouldn't take long for me to find a baby to give Mel's blanket to! Last night I gave it to a 34 week preemie named Natalie. CUTE as a button!!!! She is like 4 pounds or so....after her bath, I snuggled her in a blanket and carried her cuddled up in my arms into the next room so I could look for a hair comb! haha The blanket looked GREAT in the isolette!! Very sweet... Thanks again Mel and to the person who helped make this possible!! Carrie

Well that person should just know that they did a really great thing by allowing that blanket to go to a teeny little thing that didn't get the best start in the world! I know she's going to turn out just fine - she had one hell of an attitude. I totally fell in love with her. She's not really strong enough to feed from a bottle on her own, so I needed to put in an NG tube (small tube in her nose) to help her eat. She controlled that situation. She screeched so loud that I stopped and had another nurse do it. She also was not very fond of the heel stick. In fact, not a big fan of the bath either - but after the bath is when I snuggled her and handed her to another nurse because I was afraid she'd worm right off the baby scale in all her activity. I got out a tiny little pink bow to put in her hair, but I ran out of time so I left it at the bedside anyways. She was the epitome of "preemie attitude." I can see her 16 years from now, wearing all pink and kicking some boy's ass to the next planet. LMAO Kids like her make me smile a little more and feel the heartache of the job a little less. Whoever you are - you did a really good thing. Carrie
