Sometimes it just not fair!

Had a wonderful invitation for hubby and I to go to Hilton Head for a free (lodging) at an ocean front resort, 2 bedroom condo, with three pools, five hot tubs, beach, and all the great restaurants available with the greatest seafood on the island at our disposal.  Left Thursday at noon, got down there just in time for dinner with the friends who invited us to join them.  Spent St. Patty's day in Savannah - great parade - lots of fun (with the exception of the porta-potties - UGH!).  Perfect weather all weekend.

Get back to the office this morning back to bossman, who, if you remember from earlier posts had a small stroke in January, to find that the whole place has gone to hell in a handbasket.  Can't find a single file,  had to do monthly sales taxes for 14 states, and every single invoice involved is just ... gone....  Had to recreate every invoice to get taxes out.  Don't know where he put them, neither does he.  But the worst thing is, when there's a problem (and we have several going on with our best customers), his response is "it's OK"  or "we don't have to worry about that".    It's obvious to me that he's just not "there" anymore.  I'm pulling my own load and his too, trying to follow behind him and correct the mistakes he's making in the hopes of warding off the inevitable - that our manufacturers and customers will find out that he's just not competent anymore.

I've been doing this since January and it doesn't appear that things are going to improve any time soon.  I don't know how much longer I can keep this up.  His wife and son I think know that things aren't great, but his two daughters think daddy's just doing great and that I'm so wonderful for helping him and that things will be just hunky dory.  Mom and son are at odds with daughters, and I'm in the GD middle!

Sorry - just venting my frustrations.  Thanks for reading.

Sandy (who is now going home to bed)

And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
