I am so upset I'm spitting nails who the hell do these son of a bitches think they are!!! They are going to the funerals of our military and yelling awful stuff.They have said the widows,widowers,parents and children of the dead soldiers are to blame for their deaths because they supported them joining the military.Thank god they didn't go to Christophers funeral because I can't guarantee that they wouldn't see the buesiness end of my 20 gauge.I know this is america and freedom of press but thats fuc.kin wrong.heres links..

They showed on good morning america a motorcycle group that is going around and trying to shield the family with flags and keeping the protesters away.God Bless those who are doing that.
The message at church yeterday was not to hold a grudge because that lets those people have a grip on your life but I saw the paster? of this so called church leading the protesters speak.It is hard not to hold a grudge against this cocky son of a bit.ch.

Minnie, it's sickening, it's disgusting, but it's not new. Right after Iraq we were put on alert to stay out of major cities (as military spouses and families) because those of us left behind were enduring mobs at funerals and in the streets for no reason at all. There was one woman who had her car completely surrounded by protesters, they keyed her car and threatened her etc.
All I can say is if I had been in that car I'd be in jail, cause I'd have run them over. And if, God Forbid, my husband does a 6th deployment, and doesn't come home, they better stay away, very very far away, and they better not even consider pulling shit like that in my area, because I WILL go apeshit.

Disagree with you (on the second point only) - these aren't antiwar protestors. They are anti-gay protestors that think that hurricanes and war deaths are God's punishment for not opposing the gay movement.

Minnie, I can't tell you how sick this makes me. Especially after having just returned from meeting our nephews unit after their deployment, and seeing how soldiers should be greeted and the fallen honored! As a vietvet who had to sneak back in to the states to avoid being accosted by protesters I really thought the country had greatly improved in the way we treat our troops and our heroes that did not return. The fact that this isn't even a"war protest" just makes it sicker! I am not going to make a church burning comment here, but some serious ass kicking is due in Kansas.
I am very sorry for your families loss and proud of your still supporting our boy's and girl's that are in harms way. I pray that we will see them all home soon!

I would have to say that people like this should be very happy that my husband is not in anymore, because there is not a force on earth that would stop me from beating the living hell of people if they pulled anything like that.

I can't believe these dispicable human beings feel that they can parade "free speech" in this manner, with respect (or rather EXTREME lack thereof...) to a funeral for someone's loved one. A funeral is a very personal, spiritual matter.
If they want to have their free speech - fine. But GET AWAY from people grieving for a loss. This makes me angry just reading it.
Don't these people have any kind of heart or soul? Obviously not because anyone with a heart would NOT think it's okay to behave this way and claim they are protecting their right to free speech. You've GOT to be kidding me...
And I can't believe it's so hard to ban these people, too! Damn! I'd be yelling and screaming until they hauled me to the looney bin if people like this ever showed up anywhere NEAR the vicinity of the funeral for my loved one.
This really is disgusting....it shows these people lack a soul or any sense of compassion for the basic human needs of others. Very disturbing...

First, and very emphatically --- I am not supplying this link because I agree with anything this as%&*ole is promoting. This minister is a sick camper and best thing that could happen to him is to be caught by the IRS for not paying his taxes, and him being placed in the same cell as a very large man with no sexual preference. THis would the only justice for the pain he's caused so many.

His name is Pastor Fred Phelps, the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) of Topeka, Kansas and his website is filled with this trash. Including proud photos of those in his congregation at each of the protests.
The fact that this kind of sicko takes advantage of the "free speech" that we all believe in and many have fought and died for is sad, sad, sad.

The more I learn of these radical hate mongers the more sick to my stomache I get.The list of things that I personally find sickening is so long I don't know where to begin.I fear the more publicity they get the more wacko's they will attract to their protests.At the same time we need to know these people are out there so we can try to protect the innocent people who they target.It's a double edged sword.I hope the soldiers out on tours of duty don't hear this they don't need anymore to worry about I they really need to see the country support them.As I said before it honestly doesn't matter how you feel about the war as long as we support our military and their families.

This just makes me sick.
Yesterday I attended the funeral of a dear friend - a Viet Nam Vet - it was held with full military honors. I was sitting next to another Viet Nam vet and we both had tears streaming as taps was played. All we felt was love for this guy who gave 23 years to his country and were damn proud of him. Had anyone protested at this funeral I don't even want to think what would have happened to them.
I'm sorry, I'll give most people the benefit of the doubt on most things, but don't mess with the vets around me. I have no sense of humor at all about this one...
