JUST in case hubby's spare tranny doesn't fit into the car he has and he wants to debate me on whether we should get a $1000 beater for his work until next year, or a car for me now so he'll have my old one. There are 3 of them (all Toy's), what do ya think? 1. 1999 Avalon XLS- http://tinyurl.com/mr5jf 2. 1999 Sienna XLE- http://tinyurl.com/n46j4 3. 1999 Camry V6- http://tinyurl.com/n2rem

The Camry is an excellent car for comfort and reliability. That gets my vote.

| I'm torn between the Camry and the Sienna. I want a Camry because they have style and are dependable, just like my Corolla, but the van would be nice for the extra room.

I actually prefer cloth interior to leather, but it comes with the vehicles, so oh well. Besides, my arse is wide enough for proper cold displacement.

The van would be awful nice to own.... Especially with all my niece's and nephew's and the one's that'll for surely be arriving in the future. I could haul the kids around without worrying where to stick them! Not only that, it would be AWFULLY comfy for those riding to and from the airport in Milwaukee. BUT, Jesse hates vans... Except he liked the Pontiac Montana we found when looking for a van before I lost the baby. It had the leather interior and was loaded too... Hmmmmm.... I hope he won't be too stubborn this time round. oh, and it also blue booked better than the Camry, hehe

Go for the Avalon. Don't fork out the $1600 for the lazer controlled speed control. They don't work in dust, rain, snow, heavy traffic or around corners. Better yet go up one step and get a Lexus.

Ok, since we're finding it hard to find a decent Camry for less than $7000, I decided to check out the Buick's and came across this... http://tinyurl.com/qm86q I think I'm in HEAVEN!!! (and hubby is VERY interested in it...I wonder why??? )

Hey Mel, thats a tough one. the cars are so different. My friend has a minivan and loves it because it is a good people mover and has a lot of space. I recently got an 06 Camry on a lease. Its the primary car so we need one to be 100% reliable, but its less than $200 a month. Considering I am virtually guaranteed I wont ever spend any money on repairs, its a pretty economical way to get a reliable car. B$

Well, so far, the Camry and Sienna are still for sale. I weighted the options and value between the two, and the Sienna won. It's below blue book, has a higher value (even with 122,000 miles on it), has the space I want for eventually hauling around my kids and their cousins, and hubby talked to the guy on the phone when I was gone and seemed sorta insistant about it when I got home, (THAT'S another new one! ) although the choice is up to me since I'll be the one doing most of the driving. Oh, and the reason the guy is selling is because he has one kid in high school who drives himself and another in college, so he doesn't need it anymore. Luck be a lady on Sunday. After some major thinking of how the hell we are going to be able to afford it, I found a way to get the money without taking out another vehicle loan. BUT, we would still be $500 short for purchasing it. It would be SOOOOOOOOOOO great if anyone could please keep their fingers crossed. For when we go to look at the van we are hoping that the guy takes $7000 for it?? Please???? TYTYTYTYTYTYTY in advance!!!! mel BTW, he is driving back on Saturday from Louisiana. He was down there to help with the Katrina clean up effort.

I HIGHLY reccomend this: or get what my spousal unit drives: Or just spend 90K for this: "The new V-10 produces 500 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. Engineered to rev with a redline of 8,250, this new engine offers 100 horsepower per liter of displacement. Pure race-car territory."
