WoW...Eventful evening.

Well, after a late start to making dinner, I nearly sliced off my thumb, and Jody took me in for 7 stiches, (I just missed taking the knife down threw the joint),  we get back, make a very very late dinner together and Jody gets hit with a whooper of a CH.  Was a bit stubborn to begin with and took the first 15 minutes of the hit to convince him to let me pop him with Trex again( he really really hates needles, but he likes the abortive qualities of the Trex more than he cares about the fear).  He was adament to "finish his dinner" (which didn't happen as he began to pace shortly after that).  Guess it's lunch for tomorrow.

Doc. in the ER and I talked some about CH and I enlightened her while she was stiching me up, couldn't believe with the damage I'd done that her poking around in the wound with the needles etc. didn't bother more, and asked about how I could be a CH'er being female.  I gave her a very good "Cliff's Notes" version of the latest in CH research and statistics.  I'm not looking forward to the adrenaline in my system to wear off and the beast take me for a major ride.  Been shadowing real heavy most of the day today with some good twinges tossed in for good measure.  She mentioned I bring her in some of the Primavera I was making when I sliced myself up, I've got her a dish of left overs made up already, she was really nice.

What a roller coaster ride this day and evening has been I'll tell ya.

And I have to be to work at 8AM?

Ah yes, self inflicted injuries.  I think that they are the Spirits way of stopping your life for a moment to focus on yourself. Wink

Gee, Pegg, "Momma said there'd be days like this"...bummer.  I feel so badly for Jody too.   He's lucky to have your expertise.
But I must say, your typing seems to be flawless in spite of your thumb. Wink hug

Thumb won't bend today, and that makes it hard to hold a phone and do my job so I called in, but on top of this....

Since about 5 am this morning I took a K8 for an hour, short 10 minute break, a K7 for 1.5 hours, shadowed heavy on and off for hour and a half, then a K9 till 10 am when I finally said enough is enough and after a pot and a half of coffee, had a talk with a very old Philosopher about some stones.  Continued to shadow for another hour and then all pain passed from my temple and my cheek, from my teeth and eye....like the last flickers of a candle flame when all the wax has burned away.  I'm exhausted....can't sleep.

Back to snuggling with Jody....only thing that doesn't scare me right at the moment.

Not wanting to one-up a good finger injury story, but have kept this one to myself for a week. So, I'm working on our old storm windows. I'm trying to clean them and I push one up to the top position and lock it in. Try to unlock the bottom and having trouble when WHACK, the top one slams down on all eight of my fingers like a guillotine. 8 WHACKED at once is arguably worse than CH (albeit fleeting). One took it badly and had me to the emergency where they had to YANK my nail out and then re-set it after stitching up the nail bed behind the nail. Did I say, they YANKED out my nail... (luckily with Lidocaine flushing through my middle finger.).  It's better now but still none too pretty.

Just thought I'd share the fun.

Hope yours is feeling better too.
