I know I've been MIA as of late, but I've just got to share with everyone what I did this past week.  As some of you may know, I'm in nursing school, which leaves zero time for anything, including the board, which I really miss, but it has been an awesome experience.  Last tuesday I started my OB rotation, 5 minutes after walking in our instructor came into the room and told us there was a lady about to give birth and it was ok if we all went in and watched, so all 8 of us tromp into this poor ladies room, just as she was crowning.  I've delivered two little ones myself, one in a house, and one in the back of the rescue, but I've never been able to stand back and just watch.  Let me tell you, this had to be one of the neatest experinces of my life seeing a baby being brought into the world.  I was so caught up in the whole thing I didn't even notice one of my classmates standing beside me starting to pass out, I thought she was bending down to get something, then all of a sudden, boom, down she went and hit her head on the table the doctor had all set up with her instruments.  I felt like a complete dork for not catching her, I had her shirt in my hand, but was a little too late.  We got her up, in a wheelchair and out of the room, and the doctor said if anyone else felt woozy to leave the room.  I stayed and watched a little baby boy born, then all of a sudden it hit me, I started crying harder than anyone in the room, mother included, I just can't explain it, like I said it must have been one of the most awesome things I've ever experienced.   The next two days I got to take care of the little guy, give him his first batch, and do all the newborn testing.  It has definatelly given me a fresh perspective on life, up until now all I've got to deal with are the sick and injured, it was quite the experience to be involved with a new life, almost makes me want one of my own Shocked  I'll fade back to ocasional lurking and of course whupping everyone's but on mel's trivia game, but I just had to share.......
