WARNING!!! Remember when long hair freaked our parents out? For all you parents out there! (This includes all "wanna-be"and "could-have-been-but-chose-not-to-be parents".) Repeat after me: I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again ... I will never complain about MY kids again... Absolutely disgusting!

My dad's favorite joke was..just wait til you have kids... payback for everything you ever put your parents through will come back to you ten fold through your kids! He will be in the corner of my room with a cheshire cat grin every time my kid makes me crazy! Thank goodness he good most of the time!

At 18, my daughter spent a LOT of money and time acquiring a full-color tat of a stunning fairy-full wingspan, on her tummy. It spans hipbone to hipbone, navel to pubic bone........ She also just completed her studies to become a dental hygienist with flying colors, and is on her way to a master's degree-at the top of her class....... I remember wearing skirts short enough to............err, nevermind.and white lipstick.... My daughter's expression is more permanent, but, now that I have come to accept it, it is quite beautiful(her best friend designed the fairy and they have named it Meridian).... It's just really sad this girl has chosen not to have children......just imagine what Meridian would look like with stretch marks!!!! We do unique things.....some are more extreme, but isnt that an overview of society? We are either private in our expression or we are overt in it...or somewhere in the middle. I, for one, do not wish to carry a coke can around in my earlobe.......that's my choice........ Cathi

Cathi, My boys are now 17 and 15 and limited to expressions that will not permanently affect their life. When they are 18 and are supporting themselves they will be allowed to express themselves in ways that they see fit. If the choices are like the ones in the pictures you can bet I will try my damndest to talk them out of it but the choice is theres. Until then the choice is mine because I know best! I can and have accepted allot of things that seem extreme to my brothers and sisters but self mutilation and fullbody tats are out. But to each his own.

Karma- Why is precisely the reason she waited till she was 18......I refused to allow it before then. My son never got his ear(s) pierced either, however, you're right, we can oonly shape them for so long........ Cathi

When my son was 17 (20 years ago) he came to the dinner table with a new ear ring in one ear ring. (I guess he lost the other one) I told him "In this house you can wear the ear ring or you can eat. But you can't do both. Your choice." He took the ear ring off and we never saw it again. I once asked my son in law "You got panties to match that ear ring?" He's never worn it again in front of me. Real men do not wear ear rings!
