Cliff Hanging....

Many times over the years, my life has taken a completely new turn. It seems as if my destiny comes in smaller increments of focus or specific activity. Now it is time for another beginning. One week from today I will say my goodbyes to Colorado and return to Canada, where I was born and raised. I return to all my brothers and sisters(9) and their spouses, my parents, my 3 children, my one grandson, and another grandchild anticipated in October. I will leave behind a marriage that I will always miss, but that proved unable to withstand the rigors of chronic Cluster Headaches coupled with another more devastating disease. I leave with mixed emotions and sadness, but as I told a friend the other day, without regrets, because otherwise, “ I’d have had to miss the dance”, to quote Garth Brooks' lyrics.
The experience of the past 7 years has been exhilerating, painful, rewarding, and devastating all in one long breath.
You all have been my family for all this time, sometimes without knowing, as I confess to many many hours of lurking on this board. I have laughed, cried, prayed and hoped with all of you. I will continue to do so again with your blessing as soon as I am once again internet capable. I’m updating my profile leaving the e-mail for as long as it lasts but which will change, flying the flag of my home country and will be back to ‘see’ you all as soon as I can get here. Thank you to all of you who have helped me along the way. Wish me luck and NO SNOW for my journey.

Wow, it must be quite the emotional roller coaster lately, what with embarking on a new life and all. I believe we have many chapters, and we close the book on one and open another. Some may not be drastic, and then some are really jolting. But being human, we trudge along and survive as we only know how to.

I am sorry for your pain, both physical and mental. Change is never ever easy, even when it is something we choose. It is even harder when forced from an outside source.
My prayer for you, is for new found happieness, pain free time, improved health, and a chance to meet someone who can be with you thru thick and thin.

Remember to stop back and visit this family.I know the love and suport I have from this family even though I am seperated from Billy is a God send.One day at a time is all I can say and do.I hope you and Dave are able to stay friends and respect each other as Billy and I do.Your right about not wanting to miss the dance I had 10 wonderful years with Billy and we had three girls(2) together that are our life.Now I look ahead ,I like the song "God blessed the broken road that lead me straight to you" I know I am going to enjoy the road to hopefully a wonderful lifetime marriage ...someday.Get to know yourself again i am rediscovering myself and am a work in progress.

Annette: My wish for you is to first, have a safe, snow free trip. After that, enjoy the family that is awaiting you and know that, even tho we don't actually know each other and everyone on this board, that we all share a common bond. There is someone waiting for you who will stick with you through the ch and love you because and in spite of the beast. Someone who wants to help you through it and help you to someday, with everyone else, find an end to it.

Safe journey, my friend - peace be with you. Are you coming back to Calgary? If you're driving, take care coming up through the passes - we've had a bit of snow here lately and it's the heavy wet stuff this time of year. Please know that I am only a phone call away if you need a hug or would like to get together for lunch sometime.
edited to add - I see you've flagged Red Deer as your destination. I know you have to come through here to get there - so, like I said, hugs and lunch?

Just wanted to make it clear to some who misunderstood- I am not the one suffering CH and other diseases- that is Dave who you will still see here from time to time also. He was the one who introduced me here and then you all adopted me too.
